Chapter 5: Unfeeling

Lazarus' POV

I was watching the passing birds while Sophia was peeing in the forset. I reached out to touch one of them.

Sophia: Alright, let's go. 

She scared them and they flew away. She began walking, but I stood still to watch the flying birds.

Sophia: What's the hold up?

Lazarus: Nothing.

After a while, we finally reached our destination.

Sophia: Ah... Klamath...

Timeskip

(Y/N)'s POV

I walked into the living room.

(Y/N): You guys seen Duck? I can't find him anywhere.

Ella: He was asking me to let him play in the forest.

(Y/N): What?! How could you?!

Ella: Relax, he'll be alright. There haven't been any animals around for years.

(Y/N): *Under breath* It's not the animals I'm concerned about. 

I ran out of the house and headed straight for the forest.

Third POV

Duck was walking through the forest, wearing his mask and pretending he was fighting monsters. Suddenly, he heard someone playing the flute from up ahead. He followed the sound and found a hooded figure, but the music was coming from somewhere behind the figure. Duck took off his mask and got closer.

Duck: Hello?

The cloaked person turned around, revealing herself to be Sophia. She smiled at him and patted the log next to her, inviting him to sit down. He screamed and ran away, dropping his mask. She was about to call him back, but then noticed themask he dropped.

Sophia: We found them.

The music stopped and Lazarus came from behind a tree.

Sophia: Kill him.

Lazarus: B-But-

Sophia: Now.

Timeskip

(Y/N)'s POV

It was now nighttime, and Duck was still nowhere to be seen.

(Y/N): Duck! Duck, where are you?! Answer me!

As I ran through the forest, I finally stumbled upon Duck. His body was lying lifelessly on the ground. I quickly ran to his side.

(Y/N): Ducky! Oh my God, what happened?! Please! Please, wake up! 

He didn't respond. I began crying.

(Y/N): Oh... no... 

I was sobbing over his body, when I noticed a piece of paper next to him. I wiped my tears and picked it up. The only thing written on it was: "We'll be together again...". My eyes widened.

(Y/N): Oh no...

I placed Duck on my back and started running home.

(Y/N): *Under breath* Please let them be okay. Please don't let her hurt them.

Third POV

(Y/N) returned to their place, only to find Sadako's cabin in flames. He placed Duck's body on the ground and was about to go inside, but out came Sophia with, holding Ella by the throat.
