Chapter 4

Avery’s POV:

It was a relaxing walk back to Caribou but it took a while since I wasn’t running. It took about an hour. When I got there my car was gone and so were the boys. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and saw that I had 3 new text messages all from Greg. The first one was:

From Greg: Hey Av, I drove your car home... Come home soon Please it’s been a while!

The second one: From Greg: Hey where are you I will come pick you up.

The third one: From Greg: Avery i’m worried please answer me. Ashton went to a friends house he isn’t going to be here. Please come home.

I didn’t mean for Greg to get worried but I texted him back. To Greg: Just got to Caribou I will be home in 20 i’m sorry I didn’t mean to worry you. I put my phone back in my pocket and started down the street to our house. About 5 minutes later I my phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out to read the new text message from Greg. From Greg: Okay I got dinner i’m sorry see you soon.

“FOOD!” I yelled and started running. I was starving I hadn’t ate since this morning and I was feeling it. I was racing down the street and turning a corner when I heard tires screeching...

Greg’s POV (Before they left Caribou):

“I love you...” It was faint but I heard Ash say it.

“I love you too Ash, and it’s gonna be okay I promise Av will understand everyth..” I was cut off by Ashton’s lips crashing onto mine. I wasn’t sure what to do, I was frozen, I was confused why would Ash do this? I pulled away and looked at Ashton.

“Um... I... Uh... um.. uh.. Sorry..” Was all Ashton said before he ran out. I was dumbfounded by his actions. I didn’t know what to do so I just stood there. It was about 10 minutes when I finally came to my senses I walked out to Avery’s car and drove it back to our house. I quickly sent her a text. To Avery: Hey Av, I drove your car home... Come home soon, Please it’s been a while! After that I sent a text to Ashton. To Ashton: Hey Ash we need to talk where are you? Now I just waited for a response and put Doctor Who on.

Ashton’s POV:

“I love you...” I mumbled and it was true I did love Greg but I wasn’t sure what kind of love it was. Greg started talking and all I heard was I love you too... and before I could stop myself I leaned over and kissed Greg. My stomach started turning and I was having feelings but I wasn’t sure what the feelings were. Greg pulled away and was just looking at me. “Um... I... Uh... um.. uh.. Sorry..” I didn’t know what all to say so I just ran. I ran down the street and when I knew that I was far enough away I stopped. I pulled out my phone and called my best friend Dylan. After 3 rings he answered

-Me: Hey Dyl it’s Ash...

-Dyl: Hey Ash what’s wrong?

-Me: Uh it’s kind of hard to explain can I come over?

-Dyl: Ya sure, come over whenever, it’s cool.

-Me: Ok be over in 10.

And with that I hung up and started down the road towards Dylan.

I knew I arrived at Dylan’s house because it’s the biggest house on the block. His parents were rich and he was spoiled but he understood me and we were best friends. I slowly walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. Not even a minute later Rebecca the housekeeper opened the door. “Hi honey!” She said while pulling me into a hug. We were friends she was always so nice to me and Dylan. She pulled away. “Dylan is in the theater. I’ll bring some snacks in.”

“Okay thanks Becca!” I walked down the long hallway until I reached the double french doors and stepped inside. Dylan was in the front looking at all the movies. “Hey Dylan!”

“Hey Ash are you cool with Pirates of the Caribbean?” He asked turning around with the movie case up against his chest.

“Of course but we need to talk.”

“Okay, what’s up. Why were you so upset on the phone?” Dylan asked as he walked over to front row and sat down. I sat next to him.

“Avery got mad at me and started running and I kissed....” I started but I couldn’t finish.

“Kissed who?”  Dylan asked.
