Ashton’s POV:

“How do you want to tell Avery?” Dylan asked me from the passenger seat. We were driving back home it was about 11, I figured I should get home now.

“I don’t know. I’m not even sure she will talk to me! Why is everything so stressful in life?” I asked. I was pulled into my driveway and turned off the car. I couldn’t move I had so many ways that this could go and I was afraid of them all. I was torn away from my thoughts by Dylan calling my name. “Huh? Wait what?”

“Are you gonna get out of the car?”

“Um ya...” I said slowly. I slid out of the car and slowly walked to the front door. I pulled my keys out and unlocked the door. “HEY AVERY DYLAN AND I ARE HOME!” I yelled.

*SILENCE*

“AV, WHERE ARE YOU I’M SORRY! WE NEED TO TALK.” I yelled there was still no answer. Even if she’s mad at me she would say something to at least let me know she doesn’t want to talk. “Ugh!” I said as I started walking around the house looking for her.

I looked in the kitchen, the bathroom, her room, my room, Greg’s room, and then the living room. She wasn’t anywhere! “She wasn’t supposed to train..” I mumbled

“What?” I totally forgot that Dylan was behind me. He doesn’t and can’t know about Avery’s “job”. We have kept it secret from everyone. I needed a lie, UGH i hate lying! I’m SO bad at it!

“Uh... Nothing it’s weird she was just supposed to be here. I’m going to call her.” I grabbed my phone from my pocket. It started ringing and I heard

And they say she’s in the class A team stuck in her daydream been this way since 18 But lately her face seems slowly sinking wasting crumbling like pastries and they scream the worst things in life come free to us

Coming from downstairs. That’s Avery’s ringtone why was her phone here but not her? I walked down the stairs and into the living room. I saw her phone on the armrest, cereal on the coffee table and Pirates of the Caribbean was paused, but still no Avery. “Where the heck is she?” I pulled my phone back out and pulled up Gregs number. It eang four times then he answered.

Me: Hey Greg did you come home early and get Av?

Greg: No i’m still out I won’t be home probably until tonight, why?

Me: I just got home and she’s not anywhere and she left her phone here. I don’t know where she would have gone.

Greg: Did you check the backyard? She might be doing archery even though I told her not to train.

Me: Okay i’ll let you know anywhere else you think she might be if she’s not there?

Greg: No just let me know, Okay, bye.

Me: Bye.

I walked out the backdoor and made my way to the little range we had in the back. “Avery you back here?” I called out. I didn’t hear anything so I took a quick peek and saw nothing so I walked back to the house. “Dyl she’s not anywhere. I don’t know where she is. Let’s just wait and see if she comes back.”

“Okay. You want to watch what’s already in?

“Sure.” We both sat down on the couch next to each and started the movie over.

At the end of the movie I heard a knock on the door. I shot up hoping it was Avery and ran to the door. I opened it and it was not Avery. Instead on our front steps stood 5 boys. “Hello. Can I help you?”
