"I watched Camille pick up that dreadful looking fairy ornament and hit my sister across the head" says Julie.
I feel blood rising in my cheeks at her lie.
"I didn't hit her! I would never have hurt her! Why are you doing this?" I scream at her.
"Miss Vaux, sit down, you're making this worse for yourself" my lawyer scolds.
"I really don't care! She keeps lying, my whole trial she's been lying! I never killed anyone" my voice shakes as I shout, but I am so angry I find it impossible to care.
The jury stare at me with disgust, a man with greying dark hair shaking his head. They probably think I'm crazy.
I now have no doubt that they did. I still can't believe it myself, it is so out of character for me to just lose it. They probably thought I'd lost my temper like that with Tara, and killed her in a fit of anger.
I start to cry, because even though I lost my best friend some time ago, the horror of finding her dead is still with me now. I just can't imagine ever feeling normal again, Tara was a big part of my life and now I feel trapped and empty. Utterly and completely alone.
