"Oh my god, he's here!"
Your colleague Mina leaned over the partition that separated her desk from yours, with a knowing smile on her face. She looked incredibly excited - more excited than you, even. After all, it had been a long day for you, balancing back-to-back client meetings with a number of reports due. It had taken you until now, when the sun was starting to slip from the sky and paint the world in a dusky gold hue, to finalise it all.
Now, though, your face broke immediately into an uncontrollable grin upon hearing Mina's news. You knew exactly who she was talking about, and exactly where he would be.
As you gathered your things hurriedly, shutting down your computer for the day and pulling your coat on, a deep sense of excitement descended over you. You loved when this day rolled around. It had become something of a tradition - and clearly, you weren't the only one in the office who had noticed. Even now, as you moved towards the double doors that led out of your office, you could see a group of women gathered at the window that looked down onto the lobby, all of them giggling and whispering excitedly to one another.
You didn't join them to look. You couldn't wait.
You couldn't even bear to wait for the elevator - instead you took the stairs two at a time, giddy with the Friday afternoon feeling, giddy with the knowledge of who was waiting for you in the lobby of the building. Your heart raced double time, but you didn't even try to calm it.
