It's a somber morning all around.
The weather seems to feel them as the sun isn't even showing a single hint of showing up at all.
Quinn would be the first to appreciate the overcast day normally, but she's too busy trying to keep a confident front, for Rachel and Santana to lean on, to even notice.
"You look very pretty," Quinn whispers to Rachel, as they all make their way towards the courthouse building, and that brings a smile to the brunette's face.
"Thank you. Although I know that you're aware of the fact that you said that already...twelve times now."
Quinn nods her head, "I'm very aware. It doesn't change the fact."
She smiles wider when she sees Rachel smile that much brighter at her reply.
They walk into the building and get ushered to the correct hall and waiting area. Santana is honestly surprised by the number of people already there and waiting. She was under the impression that it was going to be quite a tiny hearing.
Quinn gives her a tiny nudge and quietly says, "This is normal. Hearings are usually open to the public, it doesn't affect anything. The numbers don't sway the judge for or against."
Santana gives her a tiny grin and nudges her back lovingly, "How do you always seem to know?"
The blonde gives her a small smile as she replies, "It's my job. I'm in charge, aren't I?"
"Always mi hermosa." Santana says immediately, an adoring look in her eyes and a rarely seen in public soft smile adorning her face.
Quinn gently takes hold of her hand and gives it a quick squeeze, offering her a returning smile before taking a deep breath and going back to people watching.
She knows what she had just told Santana is true. Hearings are open to the public. It's just, usually not many people decide to attend.
She's not entirely sure what some of the people who are surrounding them are doing here.
For instance, Quinn is absolutely sure of what the basketball coach is doing here. He's invested in seeing the result of this hearing and what it means for one of the tallest guys on his team.
She sneers as she looks away from him and sees a bakery store owner beside him. Now this is one person she's unsure of.
Ms. Jordan's is a tiny bakery that Quinn herself frequents, and other than her own love for baked goodies, there's no reason that she can think of as to why Ms. Jordan would be here to see Finn's court hearing.
Quinn goes through the entire room before doing the numbers in her mind. There is roughly eighty percent who are here to support them in their case against the boy, or who are simply there to see the outcome.
The remaining twenty percent are misogynists who don't really care about the truth or why there is a need for a hearing; and these people are hoping that Finn will walk away from this a free man.
She's disgusted by the numbers, and she's disgusted by these individuals because she knows that they know what happened. Word of Finn's actions have gotten out and made the rounds. There isn't a soul in Lima who isn't totally aware of the facts of this case.
So for there to still be people who want him to get away with this makes her heart weep for humanity.
"Come on...we should start heading in now. Nat's ushering us over." Rachel says as she offers Quinn her hand, which the blonde gladly takes hold of and the four of them walk towards the older woman, followed by their parents.
