JASON ROVVIT. My eyes widened and his cruel face sent a shiver down my spine. This could not be. He was still walking right towards me with a murderous glare. I felt numb, rooted to the spot, unable to blink. The only thing affected in contrast was my heart, which all but sped up until it felt like it was going to break free of the rib cage it was stuck in. I gulped, unable to think because my mind was racing at a supersonic speed. A lot of things were flushing through my mind.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, to tell myself that it was okay and that nothing would happen. This was proving extremely difficult.
I forced my brain to slow down, to think, to find a way out of this, and out of the corner of my eye I saw the yellow cab standing there, waiting.
Could I perhaps leave before anything happened? I had approximately 10 seconds till the devil would reach me, he was about 15 steps away, so was the cab. I guess about 15 to 20 steps away. If I broke into a run there was a fat chance I would be able to reach the cab and definitely I would be safe as long as the driver was looking or I was a few feet from the car.
I blanked my face, ridding it of all the emotions that were pouring out of my eyes and shaping my face. I made my eyes stony and hard, filled with venom. I made sure not a single thing about my stance gave away what I was going to do now.
I turned on my heel with a quick swift movement and sprinted, I heard his angered groan behind me and he broke into a run behind me. I knew I would be able to outrun him, I was a track runner and ran fast.
I stopped abruptly when I reached the cab, pulling the door open and slamming it behind me. In the side mirror I could see his car and the fact that I hadn't noted it when I had come up the drive proved to me how very relaxed and ignorant I had been.
I quickly told the cabbie to drive us out of there, panting, on which he gave me a look which made me think he was perceiving me as mad. I shouted an aggravated "go" at him and he revved the car.
"Take me to a mall.., a big huge mall.., any mall.., make sure it's crowded," I said between heavy pants.
I was thinking, my mind was racing. I was aware of Jason's car picking up speed on us.
"Drive faster and try dodging the car behind us!! Come on, faster...!!" I barked at the driver, he gave me a weird look and it was good he saw my face, because he started to drive faster. I thought about Stella, I had told her that I was coming, but I had met Jason and things had turned out differently. I fished my phone out of my coat and called Stella.
"Hey Stell?! Look, I came around your place. He was there, Jason, and he saw me. I don't think I can come around your place or my place anymore. I am one hundred percent sure he's having his friends keep a look out for him. I am so sorry. It looked like he knew I would be there. I left. He's still following me.. I gotta go..!!" Before she could even say okay to my ramble, I hung up on her.
We were in the middle of the city now and I began to see people around. I acknowledged the fact that Jason was still following us. Finally the cab stopped in front of a huge mall. I almost fell out in my haste and told the cabbie to arrive at the back entrance but make sure nobody finds out what he is doing.
I quickly rush into the mall with my huge bag, aware of the Mercedes stopping, and a built man with brown eyes stepping in stance behind me. He was quite handsome, only problem was, he wanted to take my life, and I didn't want that.
I quickly rushed in via the revolving doors, looking around me. In my front towards the right, an elevator was closing when I shouted at the elevator guy to wait. He quickly pressed the open button again.
