Grass brushed against my hands while I laid down on the ground. The breeze calmly glided through the air, making my hair wave gently against my face. I opened my eyes and smiled sweetly. The sun above me gleamed and reached out to me. I reached out to it and let its warmth surround me. I felt safe and secure like nothing could go wrong and disturb this peace within me. I stood up and skipped down the vast meadow. I didn't remember how I got here, but it didn't matter to me.

I was twirling and hopping around giggling slightly. Birds flew by and chirped their beautiful melodies. I sang with them and followed. They led me towards a dirt path. I was so into the song that I hadn't realized that they left me with butterflies of all sorts to replace them. I didn't mind, though. The butterflies flapped their little wings and swirled around me. Then like the birds, they led me down the dirt path. While on my way, I saw a slight change in my surroundings. The meadows slowly merged in a forest. I gave a slight gasp out of confusion but kept following the butterflies.

Soon I grew used to the forest around me and skipped along the path wondering where the butterflies were taking me. As if the butterflies were to answer my wondering thoughts, I saw a cozy cottage up ahead. In front of the cottage, I saw a figure tending to a garden. Getting closer I saw that it was a middle-aged woman with slight wrinkles. I slowly stopped skipping and cautiously walked up towards the woman. The butterflies left me alone making me feel alone. Was this where they were taking me?

"Hello, my dear. Are you lost?" The woman asked me, worriedly. I stopped in my tracks as I watched her trudge past the garden that she was tending to me.

"N-no, ma'am, I was just passing by," I smiled gently.

"That's good to hear, young one." She smiled gently, "Would you like to come in, I was just picking out some fresh carrots for a stew I was making. You seem a bit fatigued."

I stood there questioning if I should come in or not. My stomach started to grumble making me realize how hungry I was at the moment. But even then I couldn't take up on the offer. I couldn't just barge in and eat up all her food, and what if she wasn't the sweet women she portrayed to be?

"I-I don't want to intrude or anything," I mumbled.

"No worries dear, I wouldn't mind you eating here," she said. I finally accepted and she led me into her cottage.

All around me were antiques and walls filled with flowery wallpaper. The couch was dark crimson with matching throw pillows. A rug was sprawled across the floor in front of the sofa. It bestowed a small design of spirals and swirls with rose petals attached at the end of each point. It outlined the oval rug and inside was ivory white. Sitting on top of the rug was a marble coffee table holding a tray with a tea set. Flowers of tulips were peering up at me as they laid in their vases. An old television played a movie about a fox becoming friends with a hound dog. My guess was that it was Fox and the Hound.

Music started playing and I looked at the woman who turned on the radio. Melodic tunes swayed in the air. I smiled feeling comfortable with the atmosphere.

"I'll go make supper so just sit here and make yourself at home. It should be done soon." She said.

And with that, the lady left me. I walked towards the couch and sat down. My mind wondered back to my previous memory of being in the meadow. How did I even get there in the first place? It didn't bother me until now, though. But why didn't it bother me? Was I just content then? Maybe...
