Chapter 1
I slammed the front door and started to walk. I didn't know where I was going yet but I sure as hell wasnt going to stay here. Jason, my boyfriend, was a full drunk and I had had enough of him. He thinks he owns me. He better think again because no one owns me. I met him at a party two months ago, he bought me a drink, we danced and he took me home. He was that, if I want something now I better get it now or else, type of guy. I can't say that I was happy with him but I don't regret it.
I had on a pair of silver sandals with a white skirt that had a split up to the thigh on the right side and a tight black tank with a silver hipster over my shoulder.
I took out my phone and plugged in my earphones. I hit shuffle and it started playing I will always love you by Whitney Houston *skip*.....*skip*......*skip* Wake Me Up started to play and I did a weird little dance down the street.
I walked for several miles and ended up at Nandos. I walked in, sat at a small corner table and grabbed a menu. I always get the same thing everytime, chicken wings with lots of sauce and ranch.
"Hi I'm Stayce and I'll be your waiter today. What can I get you to drink?" I ordered and took a quick glance around the room. It was pretty empty besides the table of two sitting across from me, blonde haired boy and a darker haired older boy, we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Cute. They look like brothers. I thought.
Blondie saw me watching and smiled. I diverted my gaze to my phone. Anything to keep me from looking back towards him.
I finished my lunch and realized I had no money. I panicked and frantically searched my pockets hoping I would find my credit card. No such luck.
I looked around the room trying to find Stayce and locked eyes with blondie. I slightly smiled. The waitress came over and I horifically tried explaining to her what happened but she stopped me. "Hun, you don't have to worry about your lunch."
"And whys that?"
She smiled "Its been taken care of."
"What?"
She shifted her eyes and gave a side thumb jab pointing to the table where he sat...that little shit. I gaped and looked towards him. He smiled and winked.
My eyes got wide, "You mean they paid for my lunch?" I quickly whispered.
"I was told not to say anything so I'm gonna tell you no, but I didn't pay for it!" She cracked a smile and walked away.
I stood up grabbed my phone and walked to the door. I paused and glanced back at the boy and walked out.
I had no where to go, so I walked around the block for an hour or so. I had no friends since I just moved here after graduating high school three months ago.
I kept thinking about the boy back at Nandos. I started regretting not saying something to him before I left. What good would it have done? He just would have asked for a favor in return. That favor being a date or something of that nature.
I turned a corner and walked right into someones chest. I dropped my phone and keys "Sorry!" I muttered. I looked up and saw it was blondie. He and who I assume was his brother, had several to-go bags in their hands. He smirked, "Its my fault really. I wasn't watching where I was going." He bent down and picked up my phone and keys, handing them to me. I didn't say anything. I started to turn around and walk off, he seemed like a sweet guy, definitely not someone who I should be with.
"Hey, wait a second."
I felt a small jerk of my arm and turned. "Do you mind?" I looked down at my arm where he had lightly grabbed me. He looked at me with a quizzical brow.
"What?"
"I said 'do you mind?' Do you mind letting go of my arm?"
"Oh sorry." He let go.
I started to walk away again when I felt another tug. I quickly turned, "What? Do you want somthing?" I jerked my arm out of his hand. "Oh I know. You want a thank you for buying my lunch. Thank you."
I have never seen someones look change so fast. He looked as if he wanted to kill me.
"No actually I want something more from you." He was fuming as he walked right up to my face. Personal space was violated.
"That's not surprising. Men never have enough. They always want more, never satisfied." I smirked. "I didn't ask you to buy me lunch. I don't owe you anything." I spat back in his face.
"Well what I want from you, you can't give me." He stepped back.
"What is it you want?" I yelled. I was winning. I stepped towards him, starting to enjoy the adrenaline rush that was coursing through my veins. I never spoke like this to anyone. I always held back but this felt good letting my real emotions show.
He stepped back again, grabbing the bags off the ground. "A sincere thank you." He simply put. "I hope you have a good life." He turned around and walked off.
I just lost . "Fuck you." I yelled.
He never looked back.
