I can't breathe...

Ever since that gruesome nightmare I eventually found out that Bart is growing more and more concerned for our little group, mainly me. I don't want that though. I don't want him to worry. Although I can't see his emotions, I can feel the tension in the air. Though we go along, as if it's nothing. Not that I can ask either way, he nor Dave can even speak, so he couldn't tell me even if he wanted to.

Today was a day I wanted to be rid of those awful thoughts, because it was a beautiful autumn day and we were walking next to a river. You can easily see the strong currents, and I thought the slightly rapid waves of the river was calming. Bart was glancing about, as if examining the area and Dave was on his GameCube, as usual. After a little more walking, a glint in the river caught my eye. I stopped dead in my tracks, Dave and Bart stopping in suit. They must've seen it too because I caught them looking right where I was looking at.

I took a closer look at the shining object, going as far as to actually reaching into the water and grabbing it. I felt what felt like a necklace chain wrap around my fingers as I pulled my hand out of the water. The object seemed to be a locket, I guess I let curiosity get the best of me as I opened the locket. Inside was a very faded picture, but it was still in good condition despite it being in the water. In the picture was a baby wrapped in a light blue blanket, it looked like a newborn, and it actually looked somehow familiar.

Before I could put more thought into this baby picture I suddenly felt my feet slip, and I'm suddenly diving face first into the river. As soon as I was fully under water I felt myself getting pushed away. No no no no no! I somehow managed to temporarily resurface, where I saw a blur of black and green running near me before I was underwater yet again. It was Bart and Dave. Trouble was, that if Bart tries to save me, he'll get hurt because of the water, and if Dave saves me, he might fall in and be drowned with me. I kicked and waved my arms in attempt to resurface again but at this point I'm pretty sure I'm swimming down wards.

My lungs felt like they were burning, holding my breath this long. I knew that if I don't exhale soon I'll get brain damage. What was the point? I'm already drowning. As soon as I let out the air I held I felt the water enter my lungs...that hurt. I felt myself fading away from consciousness, it almost felt pleasing, but I was still scared. Before I dozed off I felt a pair of arms grab me under my shoulders, then pull me above water, I still passed out.

I woke up with a familiar feeling, same location, but something was off...something didn't feel right. Sitting up, I examined my surroundings before hearing a sound not to far from me, it sounded like a child's crying. I stood up, and went to investigate. I peeked from behind a tree to see...me?! After a second glance I figured that it was me, except I was about four or five years old. Little me just kept walking, letting out those heartbreaking sobs.

"Mommy...Daddy...."

I froze, what was going on? What was this? Was this supposed to be a memory or something? I was pulled from my thoughts when I suddenly heard little me scream. Glancing up I saw two shadowy figures, one very tall and the other about my height, and both very intimidating. I looked back to younger me to see that he-er...I was running as fast as my little legs could carry me. I blinked only once then I noticed something, the world seems bigger...wait! I'm a kid...I'M LITTLE ME! I turned around and noticed the taller figures are moving but rather slowly. I didn't care, I had to run! I found a small cave to my right, and dashed inside. I felt myself let out a fearful whimper, before hearing a hiss behind me. I slowly turned around and saw four red eyes, oh no...

I woke up again, seeing that everything felt the same, I was in a different cave, however. I glanced down and saw I was wearing a pair of (Most likely stolen) blue pajamas, and I had a blanket over me. I glanced forward and saw Dave for once not playing his game, and Bart with his head in his hands, at the same time they looked up at me while I merely sat there with the blanket wrapped around me. They both leapt to their feet and pulled me into a hug, which I gladly returned. After we all pulled away, I looked at them in their eyes. "Guys..." I said, they froze, they knew I was being serious. "What happened to my parents?" They went wide eyed, they knew. I saw Bart scratch the back of his neck, then reach into the pocket of his suit and grabbed the locket I grabbed earlier, he opened it to reveal the picture of the baby, he pointed to the baby and then he pointed to me.

...What...?
