Castiel awakes to the beeping of his alarm. He goes through the same routine day in and day out. Wake up, eat, brush teeth, get dressed, leave for work. But today was different. There is no work today. Cas sits on the couch with nothing better to do than to watch TV. Minutes pass before he decides to get up and eat something. Cas goes to the fridge and notices the smudged paper once again. He sets the carton on the counter and shakily pulls out his phone. After checking and rechecking the number he presses the green button.
After the third ring Castiel began to lose hope. He slowly began to move the phone from his ear when he heard a deep 'hello'.
"May I ask who this is?" The voice continues.
"This is Castiel. The guy from the café you helped." He spoke nervously.
"Oh, hey Castiel. Do you need help on another paper?" He laughs
"No," Cas chuckles along, "I was just wanting to thank you for helping me. Plus saving my job."
"Don't mention it. Glad I could help."
"Well... I was hoping I could thank you over dinner tonight. If that's alright."
"Um, yeah that's actually perfect. What time and where?"
"Is 6:30 okay. And I was planning on the restaurant by the café."
"Sounds great. I'll see you there bud."
"See ya. "
The line goes dead but Cas didn't seem to mind. He couldn't the fluttering he feels in his chest or the lack of oxygen in his lungs. He did it. He actually did it. But why was he so nervous about talking to Dean? He was just a stranger. Right?
Cas is full of energy and decides he needs to spend some of this energy. He has recently picked up the habit of working out but hasn't been doing it lately due to the stress he is under. He puts on some metal because it has the best beat and keeps the volume low. He begins with 20 push ups, 50 sit ups, and 30 squats. He finishes the first round but continues on with another five.
After two hours of constant exercise Castiel is sweating from head to toe. He feels great, even better than he did before. He is full of confidence he couldn't feel before. But once again Dean Winchester crosses his mind. Cas concentrates and heads to the bathroom to rinse his face. He looks up and he whispers Dean. Then Castiel knew that he must get to know this astounding human being.
