Terra jolted up right. Up right to a view of Reuel sitting before her on the bed she was neatly tucked into. Crystal eyes stared into her green with surprise and something a bit like worry. Worry that instantly vanished the moment she was sitting upright and staring back at him.
"I thought you said you weren't afraid." He snickered. "And yet there you were, deciding to faint mere feet away from the cliff edge." He dragged a hand through his azule hair.
"You underestimate my bravery Ruele." She growled "Ever thought that the reason for my fainting could perhaps be from exhaustion after walking miles through a bushy prickly stupid forest?"
"No, I never did think that." He grinned. Terra wished to give him another hearty slap, but there were more troubling problems at hand. The window beside her bed snared her attention. After a quick double take, Terra found herself gazing into the depths of the largest cave she had ever seen. Illuminated by lanterns and shimmering blue water, before she was at a cliff looking down over it, now it seemed they were in the center of it, overlooking a wide range of blue and turquoise mushroom homes.
"Are we in the so-called sunken palace?" She inquired. Though her inquiring seemed to be to herself for when she turned her head, Reuel was gone. Not a creak from the bed, not a shuffle or sound. He had simply disappeared. And in his place was a note.
Have a meeting now.
Rest up for the dance tonight.
Dress in closet.
Will meet queen.
Search for the antidote if you dare.
Though I warn you, you may find different answers than the ones which you seek.
Like a poem, or perhaps a riddle. Terra could not comprehend the meaning behind Reuel words. Surely Reuel knew Terra would be finding the cure to her ears and then swiftly finding the exit out of this place.
Shredding the ridiculous note, Terra tossed it into a head shaped barrel beside her bed. She shoved off the bed and stormed towards the door to her cramped and tiny room. So small, she wondered if it was in fact a maids or butlers room.
Terra vowed to not care enough to find out. Instead, she shoved open the shockingly heavy door and strode into the hall.
The castle felt empty.
And yet she had the odd feeling that there was always someone watching.
