"Hi, Sugar. I miss you so much." Tom appeared on my computer screen. I wished I could reach through cyberspace, just so I could touch him.
"You have no idea. It's so beautiful here, I wish you could see it. We're filming in the alps tomorrow...the Swiss alps, Max. It's unreal."
"You're so tan...so handsome."
"You're making me blush, darling."
"Just one more month."
"And I'll be home, and you can--"
"Watch what you say, Sugar......there are impressionable young ears in the--wait. Where are those little monsters?!"

I spun around in my chair, and took note that there was a distinct lack of little monsters in the room.
"Hang on." I said, jumping up and bolting from the room.

"Georgia? Ellis? Where arrrrre you?"

A tiny, distant voice called out to me.
"We're hiding Mommy!"
"Well, you're going to have to come out so you can talk to Daddy!"

That was all it took and our children erupted from the hall closet, a wild tangle of strawberry blonde hair, arms and legs, both squealing with laughter. I should know better than to look away from twin three year olds, to make a simple video call.

"Daddy? Where's Daddy?!" Our little girl beamed. She had his wild curls, and his twinkling blue eyes.
"He's on Mommy's computer, let's go!" I exclaimed, as I scooped her up and Ellis scrambled up the stairs ahead of us. Georgia wriggled out of my arms, and they both clambered into the chair that I'd just occupied.

"Hello my little darlings. I miss you so much."
"Daddy, where are you?"
"I'm in the mountains, sweet pea. Filming a TV show."
"With Thor?" Ellis asked, a hopeful gleam in his eye.
"No Thor this time, sir."
He pouted, and attempted his best puppy dog eyes...he'd definitely learned that from his father.

"Are you two behaving for your Mother?"
The bobbled their heads around, maybe it meant yes, maybe it meant no. With three year olds, you never can tell.
"I love you Ellis and I love you Georgia."
"I love you Daddy." They chirped in unison.

"Go see Auntie Wendy, she's in the kitchen. Maybe she's got a treat for you." I patted them both on their bums and sent them on their way. A tornado of floppy blonde curls twisted down the stairs on the promise of treats.

"Maybe we need to go to the Malibu house when I get back to the U.S. Relax a little."
"Mm-hmm. That sounds lovely." I sighed, as I sunk back into my chair.
"It's set then, go ahead and make the plans, babe."
"I will. I should go, those two have probably tied Wendy up and are raiding the refrigerator as we speak."
"Eheheheh. Good luck, Dolly. I love you."

In the oversized armchair I sat, with two exhausted little bodies covering me like a blanket. Ellis was asleep, having crashed from exhaustion and Georgia was still awake, but just barely.
"Mommy, sing me. Sing me."
"Alright, but you have to close your eyes and go to sleep."

She twisted her tiny fingers around the pendant Tom had given me the night before we got married. It was like she knew that it was her connection to the life it represented.
"Wuv you Mommy."
"I love you too, Georgia bean."
"Sing me." She whispered.

"Georgia, Georgia...
The whole day through.
Just an old sweet song,
Keeps Georgia on my mind.

I said Georgia...Georgia...
A song of you,
Comes as sweet and clear,
As moonlight through the pines.

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

I said Georgia, oh Georgia
No peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind"
