It has been 2 weeks since me and my mom had moved to New Orleans and I slowly got used to the idea of living here.

Mom acted like she had never lived anywhere else and didn't needed any time to adjust. She would go out every night and came home in the morning, just like she had been doing for the past 10 years. She would sleep all day and do the same routine every day.

Today was like no other. It was 3 P.M when she came out her bedroom in her bathrobe and slippers. She scuffed to the kitchen to make herself some coffee and plopped down next to me on the couch. I was watching an episode of 'say yes to the dress'.

"Had a little too much last night?" I asked teasingly.

"It's that obvious, huh." Mom chuckled, her morning voice was deep and low. she looked wrecked, like she hadn't slept in ages.

My mom didn't had a job and she didn't had to, because when dad died he passed on all of his money to her, Which was more than they expected.

Turned out he had a secret bank account with more than $500.000 on it. But with all the money she had spent on all the moving and all the parting the numbers had gone down quite fast. So better sooner then later she had to find a job.

Although they had still enough money left to live a good 4 years, even if they keep spending money like they do now. So my mom didn't bother worrying about it yet.

"would you care for a sandwich?" I asked while getting into the kitchen.

"A Nutella sandwich please." mom replied from the couch, now watching the news.

I made 2 Nutella sandwiches and sat down next to her, handing her a sandwich.

"So I was thinking" mom began.

"Since you and I haven't spent much time together and Gavin is working to night, that maybe you and I could go out tonight." She said while eating her sandwich.

"Uhmm... I don't know.." I said carefully.

I wasn't really a party person, like not at all. I had gone out a few times with some friends I had. And it was fun, kind of. But it was just not really my thing. I'd rather stay home and draw all night.

But on the other hand I really missed spending time with my mom and this could be the only opportunity I would get for a while.

"If you don't want to I totally understand" mom said with a slightly sad voice.

"No it not that I don't want to. It's just... you know what let's just do it. Let's go out to night." I saw mom's face brighten up as I spoke the words.

"It will be so much fun. You can wear one of my dressed. I'm sure it'll fit. Size 6 right?" she jumped up, almost dragging me to her room, sitting down me on the side of her bed.

She opened her closet, piled up clothes falling out. She grabbed some dresses, throwing them at me.

"C'mon try one on." She said witch excitement in her voice.

The first dress I tried on was a small, black, strapless, glitter dress. It was so tiny that every time I moved, even a little bit, my butt cheek would peek out, so that was DEFINETLY a no go.

The second dress was a golden dress. As soon as I had it on I wanted to take it off. It just didn't fit me right it kind of made me look flat. And that's probably the first time I looked flat, since I'm pretty curvy.

The third dress was a small, black, form fitting, off the shoulder dress. I looked in the mirror as my mom zipped the dress. I softly stroke the soft black fabric. It fitted perfectly as if it was made for me.

"You look stunning." mom said with the biggest smile on her face still standing behind me.

I blushed and turned to see the back of the dress. it was a little short, but not too short. It was just... it was just perfect.

I walked to the closet and grabbed something out of it. I turned around to mom and showed her a dress. It was a tight, dark blue, V-neck, low back, above the knee dress.

"I'll wear this dress, only when you'll wear this." I smiled handing the dress to her. I know my mom would prefer something shorter and that's exactly why I picked out a dress for her.

It was 8 P.M and I had 2 hours left to get ready.

I shut my laptop, tossing it aside and took a quick shower. After I brushed my long blonde locks, I blow dried it, causing it to go back to its original curliness.

I sat down by dressing table and grabbed her makeup bag. She looked in the mirror. She checked her skin, which was pretty flawless except for the black circles under her eyes.

She didn't know why, but she had still trouble falling a sleep at night.

She put some concealer on the circles so they weren't visible anymore. She added a thin line of eyeliner and some mascara, which made her blue eyes really pop.

Checking herself in the mirror she was pleased with the result.

*knock knock* her mom knocked before coming in. "I found the perfect shoes to go with dress." She held up a pair of blue, suede pumps.

I took them and put them on. They were so high I was worried I would break my ankles when I tried to walk. But after a few round I got used to the height and they actually got quite comfortable.

As finishing touch I grabbed a small necklace out of my jewelry box. It was a thin chain with a small crystal hanger, which was the size of a small peanut.

I quickly grabbed my clutch with my money and phone and walked out the door, mom already waiting outside. I looped my arm through hers and we walked to the clubs.

I wasn't surprised at how close all the clubs where to our house. It was probably one of the reasons her mom decided to buy this particular house. So she could walk home even when she was drunk or high.

My mom picked a club and we walked in. it was huge, and the whole room was filled with people, there probably more than 700 people here, and I personally find that a lot of people.

We got to bar to get ourselves some drinks. Although I was only 17 and you have to be 21 to get alcohol, the bartender didn't ask for my ID when I ordered a vodka redbull. I'm personally not such a fan of redbull but I like it when mixed with vodka.

I turned around only to found my mom dancing with a guy. Typical.

So I decided to stay at the bar, since I'm not much of an dancer.

After a while I got bored and went home. Rather disappointed of my mom, I had hoped we could have a fun time together. But now she's the only one having fun.

As soon as I got home I got out of my dress an put on some sweats.

I got in to the bathroom and whipped the makeup of my face. I looked at myself in the mirror. i saw my eyes tearing up and quickly whipped the first tear away. I took a deep breath and headed to my room. I took some blank papers from my drawer and got behind my desk.

I had spent the rest of the night drawing.
