A beam of sunlight peaked trough the curtains, causing me to wake up. I groaned and turned around. When I accepted the fact that I wasn't going to get back to sleep I sat up. I stretched my back and yawned. I looked at the clock to see it was only 8:30. Way to early if you ask me. I stepped into my slippers and walked over to my mom's room to look if she got home last night. *knock knock*. No response. I knocked again.

"Mom, are you there?" Again, no response.

I silently opened the door, but the room was empty and the curtains were still open. No sign of mom. I walked to the bathroom to look if she was there, but no luck either.

Maybe she stayed the night at Gavin's. Yeah she's probably there. I mean he probably had a gig in a club nearby and she visited him after I was gone. And she'd probably gone home with him. I'll call them later, because they wouldn't be awake by now.

I headed to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast. I opened the fridge to find no eggs and expired bacon. I guess I had to go to the store then. I quickly slipped into some sweats en put my hear in a messy bun. I put on my outworn Uggs, grabbed my bag and the keys before closing the door behind me.

It wasn't hard finding a parking spot at the store, because no normal person buys groceries at 9:30 in the morning on a Sunday in the vacation. But I kind of liked the tranquility of the almost empty store. It was nice and quiet, no running and screaming kids, full shelves, no trying to get passed everybody.

I got some eggs, bacon, milk and treated myself with some Oreo cookies. On my way to the checkout line I bumped into a blonde girl. Which caused her to drop a cup of ben & jerry's ice cream she was holding. Of course with my kind of luck, the cup broke and the ice cream was now everywhere.

"Is it too much to ask to use those 2 balls in your head they call eyes." The blonde scoffed.

"those were $500 boots you know." She said looking from her boots to me, back at her boots.

I rolled my eyes at the way she over reacted. I mean it was just ice cream you could easily get out the stains with some water. But I didn't want any trouble so I tried to stay nice.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you." I apologized.

She grabbed a store clerk by his shoulder and looked him in the eyes.

"Clean that up for me, would you." She fake smiled at the clerk and he nodded.

"luckily for you I'm in a hurry so I don't have time to pick a fight." She looked back at me and left.

It was 10:15 when I got back home and made myself some breakfast. I baked some eggs and bacon, plopped down on the couch and turned on the TV. Cake Boss: Next Great Baker was on, one of my favorite TV shows about food.

I sat there watching TV until 2 P.M when I called Gavin, hoping he would be awake by now.

"Yeah?" he picked up the phone, by the sound of his voice I just woke him up.

"Uh hi, it's Audrey, is mom with you? She didn't come home last night, so I hoped she had spent the night with you." I crossed my fingers, not even noticing I did it until I looked down.

"Uhh no sorry, haven't seen her since yesterday." My heart dropped when he said it, his voice sounded so careless. How could he not care that his girlfriend was missing. I hang up the phone in anger, threw it in the corner of the couch and let my head fall in my hands. I let out a sight, I needed to go to the police en report her missing. They'll know what to do.
