Taps echoed down the hall, cruel and clean as whip cracks. A shiny black boot tip poked through the crack in the door. Light caught on sharp canine teeth, clean white pearls. Ruby pendant sparkled, as bright as dark sienna eyes, rimmed with charcoal and ebony. Laden with lock picks and tools, a belt slumped loosely round a slim waist, resting on top of the hips beneath it. Dark waves of hair tied back and rippling down a creamy neck glistened in the sudden light the door opening allowed into the corridor.
"So much for a surprise entrance," murmured the silhouette at the window.

When he swivelled round, the other figure was nowhere to be found. A whoosh of air behind him, then,"What? You don't honestly think I would just walk in?"
Buckles rattled, slipping slender claws off dainty hands, separating pristine metal from delicate flesh. The figure grinned, lowering into the man's chair and pushing their booted feet against the desk.
"Don't look so shocked; it's not like I left marks."
