Two Years Later
Era sat uninterested on a blue cushioned office chair in the Royal Conference Room. Her attention was fixated on the mini twister she had created by twirling her index finger. Demetrius sat across from her half asleep leaning on the table. Era had been having a meaningful conversation about dresses with Isla before she left for the bathroom. All three have been waiting a little over an hour for Fire to show.
Unlike the others, no one calls Fire by his first name. Era had tried the first time she saw his dazzling amber eyes. Although any friendliness Era had presented to him that first day was extinguished like a flame. Fire wasn't one to socialize.
In fact, most meetings the King arranged with The Elementals were done without Fire. Meaning Water, Earth, and Air were the only ones ever present. No one had seen Light or Dark in years. The twins had been feuding for ages, and no one knew how to contact either. Meetings often ended with, "Excellent, I'll send Fire our decisions with a messenger."
Era snickered to herself while she imitated the King's words. King Calden had clarified that this meeting wasn't starting until all of them were present. Era could only hope it was important.
Still playing with her mini twister, she sighed. She hated being away from Elea-her golden eagle spirit animal-for more than a few hours. But rules were rules, and King Calden had a strict 'no animals in the palace' policy.
Demetrius let out a quiet snore, and Era chuckled to herself. The big oaf was the ruler of Earth. His dirt brown hair and green eyes made him look the part too. She herself ruled over Air. Isla always took pleasure in saying, "If one could ever look the part, it's you."
Era herself could never quite understand what she meant by this. Her gray eyes, platinum blond hair, and porcelain skin screamed beautiful to her, not Air. Having distracted herself with the concept of her beauty and how the element she controls correspond, her small twister had grown larger.
Losing focus, she flung the twister off her finger, successfully hitting Demetrius in the face. He didn't seem to notice as he only stirred a little in his snooze. The only noticeable difference is that he no longer was as close to the table.
The twister had blown his office chair a considerable few feet away. Era smirked while pondering the idea of moving him farther. Perhaps into the wall would give him a little of a fright.
Slowly moving her hands back and forth, she creates a small wind current. Before being able to finish, Isla walked into the room. "Era? What are you doing?" Isla said.
Smiling devilishly Era replied, "Having a little fun."
Isla sat down near Era and laughed. "Do you need help by any chance?"
Isla made a show of forming a water ball in her hands. Era only nodded her head before returning her focus back to her air current. Isla formed a blob of water and tossed it hand to hand. Her blue eyes caught movement from three guards walking hurriedly in the halls. The glass walls of the conference room conceal nothing from outside it.
Her curiosity rose, wondering what the guards might be in a rush for. But any curiosity she had, vanished quickly and turned to dread. A tall figure clad in a black form fitting shirt and dark jeans appeared from behind a pillar. His black hair hadn't changed the slightest since the last time Isla saw him two years ago. It was still closely cropped to his head, and when he turned, his fiery amber eyes were vibrant.
Behind him, a large tiger appeared almost out of the shadows. Its' pelt was a gorgeous orange that contrasted beautifully with the jet black stripes. If the shock of seeing him wasn't enough, the tiger was. The other Elementals had abided by the rules and left their spirit animals before entering the palace grounds. Fire didn't get the memo by the looks of things.
