When we got to Texas, we both had plenty of excuses as to why we couldn't part ways. Most of them had to do with we needed eachother for both money and support, which was true. So we ended up staying in a motel for the time being. We had been in Texas for a week and a half and already Karkat had got a job at a Wendy's. I, however, had found nothing yet. Karkat told me it was because of my hair and tattoos, but i thought that was a load of crap. I was working on it though. I tried my best to stay away from televisions and radios. If they were looking for me and Karkat, I didn't want to know. Even so, I knew that I wasn't living up to my plan. The whole thing was screwed from the get-go. But that wasn't going to stop me from trying my damnest to keep my head above the water. We we're doing fine, even though we had little money for rent and I couldn't find a job, but my booze was always there for me to fall back on. I was still on the cheap stuff that I had first gotten at the convenience store. It hadn't gotten me into any trouble, until one night. I had applied for a job at the library and the lady that was interviewing me humored me, gave me the full test. But I could tell as soon as she saw me that I wasn't going to get it. So I had gotten drunk, sat in the truck and finished what was left of that bottle. When there was nothing left for me to swallow I went back to the motel room. Karkat was there, but so was someone else. He had purple hair and thick framed glasses and as soon as he tipped his head up to look at me I knew that I didn't like him.
"Who the hell is this?" I asked, gesturing to the stranger.
"Gamzee, this is my friend, Eridan, he wanted to come hang out," Karkat replied, his face contorted a bit.
"Hang out," I repeated, approaching them. I took Eridan up by his collar, sneering when a surprised noise left his lips.
Eridan exclaimed that I release him, and that only served to fuel my anger, making my jaw clench painfully and the alcohol inside of my system burn.
I punched him in the stomach and ignored Karkat's yells of protest as I dragged him to the door, pushing him out with a growl. Despite the absolute fire in his eyes, Karkat looked like he was going to cry."Who the hell do you fucking think you are?!" Karkat exclaimed, his chest heaving and his hands shaking.
"You can't motherfucking bring people in here whenever the fuck you want to," I told him, my fists still clenched at my sides.
"You can't tell me what to fucking do! You're not my father and you're damn sure not my fucking boyfriend!" Karkat yelled, getting off of the bed and heading to the door, probably to go after Eridan.
I grabbed his arm and yanked him back, shoving him into the wall. He let out a cry of pain, tears stinging his eyes as he tried to get away from me. I grabbed his wrists, holding them to the small of his back as I pushed him back onto the bed. Kid had another thing coming if he thought that he could ruin my escape by fucking up and bringing someone over here. He was already the problem, I would be out of the country by now if it wasn't for this runt mooching a ride off of me. He was shaking then, limp as I turned him over. My scowl dropped when I saw his face and I moved in between his legs, brushing his damp hair off of his face. He opened his eyes to look at me, breathing out shakily. I frowned, kissing him softly. What was that? An apology for man handling him? He ate it up anyway, as if he forgave me almost immediately, opening his lips against mine. I petted his side, letting him lap at my mouth and tangle his fingers in my hair. I pulled away when he moaned, my heart pounding in my chest.
"You could have broken my arm," Karkat said, looking up at me with his soft brown eyes. He was breathing a little hard and his lips were fat.
Something stirred within me and I sighed, putting my forehead against his collarbone. I didn't respond, using my index finger to pull the collar of his shirt down. I mouthed at his neck, feeling him shudder underneath me. He was still shaken up, I could tell because his hands were shaking slightly. Karkat whispered my name almost inaudibly as I bit down softly on the crook of his neck. I had some time to think about alot of shit while I sucked on his neck, distracting him from everything outside us. This kid had some issues if he could still kiss me after that shit I pulled. Karkat still wanted to stay with me, didn't run when I let him go, let me kiss him and just relaxed, his trust hadn't wavered.
