"Let's hear it."

Slowly, Bellatrix raised from where she sat. She walked around the table, tracing its edge with the tips of her blackened fingers.

"If the Dark Lord were to see Narcissa as — perhaps — unloyal to his cause, then he may doubt his decision. When he sees that she's been writing letters to those who are outright against his 'movement,' " she quoted, "Begging them to get her out of this curse. That might just prove her an enemy. Our parents grow angry at the revelation and try to convince Him that she's just young, not ready yet. He will see past their lies, and he will refuse to mark her." She grinned darkly in her pride.

Sirius stared to the faraway wall. "I thought we wanted her free, not dead!" He exclaimed. "She already knows too many secrets to get away with her life."

"Well, what do you suggest, Little Cousin?" Bellatrix glared.

Sirius growled at her. "I suggest we kidnap her around her initiation. She was kidnapped as a hostage for information and payment. It's simple and-"

"They either won't make the payments to get her back, effectively letting the kidnapper kill her. Or they'll move the initiation to when she's back. You know none of us are worth sharing His secrets for. Not to our parents."

"Thank you, Regulus!" Bellatrix cried.

"Hold on, Sirius is right, too. If anyone thinks she's defective, then she'll probably get killed in an 'accident'. A happy, little accident." Regulus mumbled.

They sat in silence, a common occurance in the Black household. And then Regulus spoke. "I might know what we could do."

‐---------------------------------------------------------------------

From that moment on, little, 11-year-old Regulus; the one who bit his fingernails — and chewed at his lips — at public events; who never spoke unless spoken to; who, to this date, has only outright dissapointed his parents once, had gained the repsect of his family. A perfect plan, Sirius had called it, even Bellatrix was yet to find a flaw. So as Regulus talked to Andromeda that evening in a secluded corner of Slytherin Common room over a cup of tea, he finallly felt proud of himself. And that was a high he could thrive of for now.

In other events of the Black cousin weekly catch-ups, Andy and Regulus talked about books they were reading, their shared favourite classics, and planned to practice a duet, Regulus on piano and Andromeda on violin.

"I can show you some place tomorrow night, Reggie," she shared.

"Reggie? Andy I'm not a kid anymore!" Regulud whined.

"You aren't even twelve yet! Honestly Regulus, what in Merlins name do you consider a child?" She laughed.

A few studying kids turned their heads towards the two in disdain, but who were they against the Black family. They continued chatting for a while longer, Andromeda complained about being married off, causing Regulus to be the one giggling.

"At least that'll never happen to me. I get to choose who I marry, as long as she's pureblood." He teased, smiling.

"Like Pandora?" Andromeda raised her eyebrows, prompting Regulus to shove her accordingly.

"Better her than a cousin."

"There's nothing telling us she isn't"
