I wake up to someone shaking me. I open my eyes to see my mom "good morning sunshine, today is the choosing ceremony"" are you nervous?" " no mom, I know where I fit in" "well I hope you choose wisely" she says and gives me a hug and a kiss. I walk downstairs and get my breakfast and sit across from my dad at the table."are you nervous for today?" " no dad, I know what I am going to choose" "well them I hope to see you soon" I give him a weak smile, but I am leaving my family. My dad has beat me ever since I have been a little kid and last night was the worst. He kicked me and punched me until I was knocked out. I am going to make it in dauntless, at least I hope s0..
I walk out of the house and head to the ceremony. I couldn't take another minute in that house. I keep waking until I reach the hub. I walk in and sit with all the other 16 year olds in my faction. Cate and Riley come and sit next to me. "Hey how's our new dauntless friend?" "I'm good, just nervous, but excited too" " you know if you choose dauntless you get to see Eric again" Cate reminds me, " I have been waiting to see him again" I say.
"Welcome everyone!, today we are gathered to watch new people choose a new faction to live In for the rest of their lives" "we will call the names alphabetically" Jeanine says. Max comes up on the stage and starts calling names. I zone out until "Jordan Brooks" I slowly get up from my seat and make my way to the stage, max hands me the knife and I slit my wrist and let my blood drop, and sizzle onto the flaming coals of dauntless.
"DAUNTLESS" max yells with pride.
I walk over to my new faction to be surrounded by people giving me hugs and pats on the back. I love my new faction. I sit and watch the rest of the ceremony until it is finally time to leave. The dauntless are the first to leave they get up and start down the steps. It is hard to keep up. I found myself running my heart out. When they finally came to a stop they were climbing up to the train tracks. I start to climb up and get to the top out of breath. Without being able to catch my breath I had to start running to catch the train. Luckily I watched the dauntless do this so I had an idea of how to do it. I run and jump and grab the handle and pull myself in. I stand there watching the city go by until we have to jump. I get up and walk to the other end of the train to get ready to jump and find my two friends getting ready to jump too."together" "together" they confirm "1,2,3" and we all run and jump. It feels like a long time before we land, but I land and it hurts like hell. I get up and brush all the stones from pants. Me and my friends walk over to to group and find two people standing on the ledge, but the one looks a lot like Eric. "Is that Eric?" Riley whispers in my ear, I shrug my shoulders "i don't know". "Listen up" the girl says "my name is Kiera and this is Eric" "we are two of the five dauntless leaders" oh my freaking God Eric is a leader here at dauntless. "This is the way into dauntless" "who's first" Eric says with a smirk. Nobody volunteers. "Me" I say with confidence. I walk up and climb up the ledge, I take a deep breath look at Eric and wink and then I jump into the unknown.I feels like minutes being suspended in the air, but it soon ends when I land on a net. I exhale a shaky breath before I am being pulled off the net. I grab the hand that was there, and the person lifts me off the net onto the ground. He is tall, brown hair, and brown eyes. He is quite handsome. "What's your name?" Should I go with Jordan or should I change it "Is it a hard one?" "You can pick a new one, but make it good you don't get to pick again" new place, new name "Storm" I reply with confidence. "First jumper storm!" He yells to the crowd and they erupt in cheers. He turns back to me and says "welcome to dauntless!" I am ready to put the past behind me and start a new life of my own.
