On and on and on. Does this road never end? We saw the sign: "Entering Cornwall" 1 hour ago. Alfie is asleep now and my mum is driving instead of my dad as he needed a rest. He sits with his eyes closed, one hand resting on his stomach, the other on my mum's knee. My mum looks in her mirror at me and says " try to get some sleep, it's been a long day and we have a busy day ahead" as cheery as she can. I nod and smile and shuffle downwards, resting my head on the window ledge and stare out the window. Rain starts lashing down and my brothers turns over in his car seat. I find the rain quite comforting, and my mum starts singing quietly to herself. The last thing I see before I shut my eyes are her emerald eyes and her wide smile in the mirror. It's what I feel next which starts it all...
