Ten minutes of school and then it's over. No more tests, no more projects, no more of Ms. Smith's constant talking. The clock keeps ticking. Slowly, steadily. These ten minutes were going to be the longest.

Good thing my best friend Anna is sitting right next to me. We've been best friends for a year since I just moved to Collin High School at the beginning of the school year but I knew she was the one person that I could trust with anything. Plus, she was kind of the only friend I have besides Peter. Well Peter isn't really my friend he's just the only other person at CHS who actually talks to me.

Anna slips me a note.

"Wanna meet after school 2day nd have a slpover @ my house. My mom talked to ur mom and she said 0kie."

Ugh. Her shortcut of writing words and lack of a question mark bothers me but I still glance at her and nod my head. She smiles. What better way to start off a great summer than spending a night with your absolute best friend?

"And then we will be taking a trip to London to visit my dog's vet's bro-", Ms. Smith was cut off by the bell.

School was finally over.

I quickly grab my backpack and head out the door with Anna. We stop at our lockers just to make sure we didn't leave anything behind. Fortunately our lockers are right next to each other.

"I'm so glad schools out. We can finally have time to just sit back and relax,"I said.

Anna grabs a old chocolate bar out of her locker. It was all mushy and sticky. "Yep! I'm so excited to plan a bunch of things to do and then not actually do them!" We both close our lockers and head out to go but then Peter stops me.

"Hey Kay!" That's what he calls me. I only let certain people call me that. My brother, my family, my cousins, Anna, and him. No one else.

"Anna, go out and grab our bikes. I'll be out in a minute," I tell Anna.
"So what's up Pete?" I only call him that. He doesn't usually like nicknames but I'm an exception.

"I was just wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out since it's the last day of school and everything. It's totally cool if you can't, we can do it another day. I mean really you don't have to-"

"Of course I want to. Let's head out and I'll tell Anna that I'll come go to her house at 7." Peter and I head out together and I tell Anna that I'll go to her house later.

When I walk out with Peter I feel it in the air. I felt like I was floating on a cloud in the beautiful sky of my home Montana.

This was going to be the start of a great summer.
