"What are we still doing here? When can we go home?"
"Quiet. There's nothing for me at home."
___
"Umm, hello?"
"Hey."
"Hi."
"Hello."
"Okay.."
"Really, Mila?" Michael exclaims, rolling his eyes. "Shit, I'm just sitting."
"You never sit with us for lunch" she says, as she looks around the table at Ashton and Luke and Calum all squishing themselves onto the small benches upon which she and Zoe and Xandra are already sat. "This is..."
"What?"
"I dunno, it's..."
"What?"
"It's like you two are friends," Zoe says, raising her brows as she takes a long, smug sip on her drink. "Almost like you like each other," she says, looking between the two of them, sat beside each other on the bench. "Like you're not the sworn enemies we all thought you were."
Mila shoots her a glare. "How about you--"
"What? Pssh," Michael exclaims, eyeing her scowl. "I hate Mila. We aren't friends."
Her expression softens.
She shrugs. "He said it. Not me."
Zoe looks between them. "As if I believe that."
"Aw," Ashton pouts. "And here I was thinking the Michaela ship was about to set sail."
"Michaela?" Xandra laughs. "What's that supposed to be? Their names combined?"
Ashton nods. "Like Brangelina or..."
"Zuke," Zoe adds. And she shoots Luke a wink. "That's our names combined, by the way."
Ashton frowns.
Calum laughs aloud.
Luke's cheeks are tinged pink.
"I don't know if I'm in love with Michaela..." Calum says, rapping his knuckles on the table.
Ashton shoots Both Luke and Zoe separate looks. "But, can we circle back to the shit that is Zuke."
"Hush, Ashton," Zoe laughs. "Don't hate on the magic."
"Magic? Ha! Hilarious."
She rolls her eyes. "Anyway, back to the lovebirds..."
"Lovebirds?"
"Shut up, Zoe."
She laughs. "Ship names. I like..."
"Miley?"
"Absolutely not."
"Milaechel?"
"Eew!"
Michael laughs. "That fucking sucks, Calum."
Mila nods, tapping his knee. "I hate to agree, but..."
Ashton laughs. "Seems like you guys're coming around to the idea."
"Yeah," Zoe nods. "That's 'cause they're friends now, duh."
"Are not."
"Eew? Mila? My friend?"
"Gross."
"Disgusting."
"Never gonna happen."
"Ever."
