Billionaire's Cloud

Chapter One

"You have a meeting at 2 o'clock regarding the Smith project. After that at 4, you have a conference with the regents. Also, the documents that you have requested are on your desk, please sign them so I can forward them to the dispatch," Claudia said calmly. The conversation seemed one-sided as her boss wasn't even looking at her but on his tablet. Quite rude yes, but Claudia's used to it.

She waited patiently for his response. After almost a minute of silence, she dared to look at whatever's keeping him busy and found out that he was playing.

"Elijah Towers! Seriously? What are you, twelve? Did you even hear a word I said?" she asked. The guy finally looked at her, and had the nerve to grin. "Oh lighten up, Cloud. Yes I heard you. It's still lunch time, I have a few minutes to spare, and I just came from an exhausting meeting, let me be, won't you?"

"You are the only boss that I know that still plays game. What about your report?"

"Done. And you must not know a lot of bosses then. James for one also plays. His assistant even plays with him. They're ganging up on me I tell you. I told you before to download this game so we could team up but you always refused. Hey make yourself useful and bring me a cup of coffee, will you?"

Claudia rolled her eyes and left his office while muttering under her breath. Upon entering the pantry, she quickly composed herself, making sure none of the employees would detect anything but reverence in her face. If people here find her muttering, another story would circulate around the office. And boy were they creative.

When she was done with his coffee, she returned to his office only to find out that he hadn't moved and he was still playing.

"Here's your coffee," she said as she placed the cup on his table. Not expecting a reply, she went out of his office quietly and sat on her chair. She began checking the emails when she was interrupted.

"Claui! Let's go out to lunch!" said Therese, one of the few close friends Claudia has made at work. She checked the time and turned to her friend, "Sure. Let me just pack this up and then we can go. We have to be quick though, Mr. Towers has a 2pm meeting."

"Yeah, no problem. I was thinking we could go eat at Tong Cha, I'm craving dimsum."

They agreed to meet at the lobby in 10 minutes. They decided to eat at the famous Chinese fast food down the street.

Upon entering the fast food, they found out that it was almost full. Therese turned to Claudia and said, "Hey, why don't I line up to order while you go check for seats? I'll just find you later."

"Sure, sounds like a plan. I want the yang chow rice and spareribs. Oh and -"

"-their bottomless house blend iced tea, yeah yeah I know. Okay, I'll see ya later."

Claudia looked for vacant seats. There was a table for four near the window that was almost vacant - a guy was sitting on one of the chairs with a number so Claudia assumed that he was just waiting for his take-out order - and approached it.

"Hi, excuse me. May we share your table? The place seems full and my friend and I really want to eat here," she said politely, causing him to raise his head and look at her. She was met with brown eyes almost the same shade as hers which was a bit weird. A narrow nose and nice pair of lips complimented his face. He was cute, Claudia thought. A guy-next-door type of cute.

"Yeah, sure no problem. I'm actually just waiting for my take-out and then I'll leave," he replied, proving Claudia's assumptions to be true. She sat down and thanked him.
