I starred at Nico in surprise as I examined his face, where there had been a hole a few weeks ago had healed but the strange thing was a new eye had grown and it seemed to pulse a gold colour like the Apple of Eden.
"We need to go talk to your father." I said, placing his hair over his new eye.
"Come on." I said, grabbing his hand and dragging him down to the cabins. Ezio and Xavier were drinking and talking in hushed tones. Fenice was curled up on a pillow, sleeping.
"Ezio, you need to see this." I pushed Nico towards his father.
"You are in big touble mister." Ezio said.
Nico signed, pushing his hair away from his eye. The men gasped when they caught sight of the golden globe that Nico had for an eye.
"Holy shit!" Xavier shouted, waking up Fenice.
"What happened to your eye?" She asked, flying over to him. He looked at everyone confused before walking over to the window and cleaning off some of the dirt. His mouth gapped open when he saw what everyone was fussing about.
"Can you see fine know?" I asked.
"Everything has a gold haze to it and I see a building in the middle of the ocean."
"What?" Everyone asked in unison.
"Right there." He pointed out the window. I looked but there was nothing there. I walked back to the deck to get a better look followed by everyone else but there was nothing there.
"If I remember correctly, there was a precursor site there. I saw it on the map that is on the back of the codex pages." Ezio said.
"Ezio, what does that mean?" I asked, placing my arms around Nico.
"The Apple changed him. I think he can see how things use to be, in the time of Those That Came Before." Ezio said.
"The Templars can't find out about this." Xavier said.
"They'll want him even more now that he can see the precursor sights and me and Drago." Fenice said.
"We have to protect him." I said.
Six monthes later
A/N I don't know if it really takes that long to get to Paris.
I signed in relief as we stepped off the ship. Being stuck on a ship for six monthes with a little baby is not fun and I'm not talking about Nico.
"Will you shut up, Xavier!" I yelled. He had been whining almost the whole trip.
"Yeah, I'm this close to punching you." Nico said, holding his finger and thumb about a millimetre apart.
"Nico," Ezio said in a stern voice, "I agree completely." He finished with a glare in Xavier's direction.
"You're all mean." He said, turning away from us.
I fix my mask as I looked around, it was strange I hadn't worn it since I told Mario and Claudia who I really was. No one here in Paris knows who I am, well the doctor does but I made him swear to secrecy.
"No one knows who I am. So don't blow it." I hissed.
"Alright, honey." Ezio said, with a smirk.
"Ezio." I growled.
"Okay, okay, I'll behave."
"You better or I'll take away something you love." I said, giving him a knowing look.
"Master V!" Someone shouted.
I spung around, my hand going to the hilt of my sword. A young man was making his way over to us. He had black hair that hung around his face in waves and his bright blue eyes seemed to sparkle with happiness.
"I'm Connor Davis, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. I've heard so much." He said when he reached us, holding out his hand. I gave him a firm hand shake.
"This is Ezio, Xavier, and Nico Auditore."
"I didn't realize there still that many Auditores left." Connor said, flexing his hand. I smirked underneath my hood.
"Yep and there's still two more." Nico said, rubbing at his eyepatch. We had decided that it would be best if he continued to wear it.
"Are you a bit young to be here?" Connor questioned.
Nico glared at him. "I have my hidden blades and robes. What do you have?"
"Nico!" Ezio hissed.
"But father."
"No."
Nico huffed, glaring at Connor.
"Shall we be off." I said.
"Yes, this way. Your belongings will be delivered to the guild." Connor said, leading us to a carriage.
Once everyone was inside, it was a tight squeeze for Ezio, Xavier and Nico, since they didn't want to sit beside Connor.
"So what has been happening?" I asked as the carriage began to move forward.
"I don't know much but there have been attacks all over the city. The Templars are attacking our allies. But they are also looking for something."
"What are they looking for?" Ezio asked.
"We don't exactly know but they are taking children."
I stiffened, looking at Fenice, who was sitting on Nico's lap.
"They're looking for Nico." She said.
Nico looked down grimly.
"How many? What ages?" Xavier asked.
"Ten so far from the age of ten to fifteen."
"You be careful." I said, looking at Nico.
"I will."
I looked up as we came to a stop, with a sign I opened the door and climbed out, followed by everyone else.
"Wow." Nico gasped as he looked up at the cathedral. It was stunning with it's big arching roofs and sparkling windows.
"This is where you use to live." He said, his mouth gaping open.
"Yes for most of my life." I said, heading towards the back of the cathedral. Everyone followed as I headed for the back entrance. I pushed a small lever that as disguised as a candle holder and a door appeared and opened.
Ezio, Xavier and Nico pushed back their hoods as they took in their surroundings.
"V, is that you." Someone came running forward. It was Amanda. She was quite beautiful, with her long lushes blonde hair and emerald green eyes. The last threteen years had been kind to her, she had been about fifteen when I last saw her. I could tell that Xavier thought so too. Amanda crashed into me, wrapping her arms around me.
"It is nice to see you as well Lady Amanda." I said stiffly.
"Amanda, sweetheart let V go. It looks like he's about to implode." I looked up greatfully as Amanda let me go. Markos was standing there with a small smile.
"Papa, look who's back. Can I marry him know?"
My breath caught in my throat causing me to choke and start coughing. Ezio patted my back till I had my breathing under control.
"Repeat that." I said.
"Amanda wants to marry you V. I told that if you ever came back to Paris I would give you permission. So what do you say?"
Xavier started laughing and Nico started to snicker. Ezio looked like he was envisioning something. I stomped on his foot when I realized where his mind had gone.
"Ow!" He growled.
"Xavier shut up before I make you." I hissed.
"Would you really hurt your brother?" He asked.
"Yes." I said, punching him on the arm, causing him to stumble back.
"I can't take your daughter's hand in marriage." I said.
"Why not?" Amanda asked.
"Because..."
"He's already married." Ezio said.
"To who?" Markos asked.
"This beautiful woman in Firenze."
"No, no more lies. We need to talk in your office." I said.
"Alright." He said, leading us to his office.
Markos sat down at his desk. "So your not married?"
I turned and closed the door on Amanda.
"Hey!" She shouted, banging on the door.
"No, I am married."
"To who?"
"Ezio." I said.
"What? V, a man and a man can not be togather."
"Trust me, V is not a man, I've checked thoroughly." Ezio said with a sly smirk.
"Okay gross, I don't want to think about my parents doing stuff." Nico said with a shudder.
"You and me both." Xavier said.
I looked back at Markos, who looked very confused. I pushed back my hood and took off my mask.
"Your a woman. How could I not have known, you lived here for fifteen years of your life."
"I was good at hiding it." I said.
"Not that good." Ezio said.
"If La Volpe hadn't of said anything you would have been convinced for awhile that I was a man."
"True." He said, pulling me to his side.
"This will take some time to get use to." Markos said.
"I'm sorry that I lied to you for so long."
"It's alright."
"Vera, Templars outside." Fenice saud, flying over to me. I ran to the window and looked outside. There was a group of Templars standing outside the church as was the woman that we encountered Thebes. When we were searching for the necklaces in the Karnak Temple.
"Ezio and V, we know you are in there and we know you have a boy with you. Hand him over!" She shouted.
Nico grabbed a chair and pushed it underneath the window. Climbing on top, he looked out of the window, pushing his eyepatch out of the way.
"Screw you bitch!" He shouted
