"Josh!" I scream as a huge load of rocks bury him in dust and boulders. I feel for a pulse on his wrist after clearing away some of the stone, but there is none. Now, my twin, and only friend, is gone, too.
Tears roll down my cheeks and Mum and Dad give me a shoulder squeeze each. Then Dad says, "Come on, we need to move." And we struggle on again.

Finally, we come to a small cave. I'm terrified of going in there after the landslide, but as the wind picks up I have no other option.
"We need to split up to find help," Dad suggests.
"But we can't split up, we'll lose each other," Mum argues.
"Arguing isn't going to help," I but in.
"You're right."
"Fine. Cassie, Julie, you go together and I'll go alone seeing as I suggested splitting up."
So we do. Dad goes off alone into the forest, and as we say goodbye I have a bad feeling that this will be the last time I see him. I shake my head to myself. No, Cassie. Don't think like that. Mum and I set off down stream.
