Origins: Kobi Frank

(Kobi POV)

My car pulled up to the scene and i hopped out quickly and looked for someone wearing a badge it was raining heavily and the smell of cigarettes, fish and the sea were present throughout the docks i found a cop stationed outside the bright police tape approached him "Whats the situation?" the white male was turning around as he said "no civvies here this is a crime scene-" but he turned around and sight of my badge shut him up he almost choked on his drink and said "Detective Frank sir, um Detective Houston is waiting for you inside the warehouse" i smiled "thank you" and walked towards the warehouse, everything seemed grey, i remember being inside my house watching the movie "Afflicted" when i was called to a crime scene at the docks of Toronto where Houston had asked for my assistance, i found the warehouse but Houston wasn't outside , i heard gunshots and ran inside and saw several muzzle flashes accompanied by sounds of lead hitting wood, metal and flesh which was followed by blood curling screams i wasn't seen but i saw Houston and 2 S.W.A.T members on one side of wood blocks while on the other side were 5 men in dark clothing and some wearing ski masks firing at them with MP5s i grabbed my pistol out of the holster and switched the safety off and took aim at one mans head and fired, the bullet hit him square in his skull and passed through killing him, i fired a few more shots two hitting another man leaving him bleeding and the rest hitting either the wood boxes infront of them or hitting the metal wall, they started to open fire in my direction but were quickly put down by Houston's group i went over to Houston and hugged her "You okay?" is all i said and she nodded i looked at the S.W.A.T members and they nodded aswell and went over to what appeared to be a dead body dressed in the same clothing as them "I thought this was a crime scene not a western shootout" i said "I thought you liked action" says Houston, Houston or a.k.a Cindy Houston was one of my friends in the police academy, we grew closer after we both became cops and climbed through the ranks watching each others backs, she has a boyfriend but that doesn't stop her from constantly flirting with me only to tease me with her boyfriend. So what did you need me for Cindy? "Cant i just have you here for no reason?" she replies i glare at her and she continues "Okay okay, there was a break in at this dock by 11 armed men, what type of break in requires 11 armed men?" i opened my mouth to speak but she continued. "Anyway i did some digging around and found out this warehouses contents were never registered, it was off the books" "Armed men, unregistered contents in a warehouse, that sounds like a beginning of a conspiracy plot" i say "yeah so what now?" "we find the owner of the warehouse" i replied so we got in my car, i asked her how she got here and she said she was driven here by her boyfriend, his name is David Cross he's an ex-military police officer, Ex because he would do his work violently. maybe thats why Cindy and him were together. Just at that moment he got in the car "Aye, Love " his british accent still strong "Why are you here?" i said trying to brush off the fact that i was ignored and they kissed infront of me "im going with you on your little escapade" he replied, "no civvies allowed" i thought i had won with that but Cindy started rambling about some loophole and i realized there was so point arguing, while we were getting onto the highway there was alot of traffic, much more the usual i turn on the radio and there telling people to evacuate the city as the outbreak has gotten out of hand and just at that moment a man was thrown out of his car and had his insides torn out and eaten alive right infront of us, "Oh my god" Cindy and David said in unison. At that moment i saw hordes of people some looking normal with exception of a few bruises and some missing limbs but they all had fire red eyes and and a look the described hunger "BACK UP BACK UP" says David "You don't have to tell me twice and i back up dodging abandoned cars and pedestrians but i hear a loud horn and i see a 16 wheeler charging our way i decide to try to dodge it but my instincts take over and i swerve left crashing through the highway iron bar falling backwards into a ditch, and my head hitting the back of my seat knocked me out. (4 hours later) i felt groggy as something was shaking me and yelling it took me a few minutes to realize that it ways cindy's voice yelling my name "Kobi!, Kobi!" i sat up and she hugged me which pained my side cindy had blood coming out of her left forehead, "You good?" i said as i used my thumb to wipe the blood, "its good that your awake mate but still hands off " said a familiar british accent i looked behind me and saw Cross trying to kick the door, i looked around and realized it was around dawn i tryed fiddling with the radio only to hear static suddenly the banging of Cross kicking the door was followed with a scream and a loud clonk "Cut my hand on glass" he explained at that moment cross was pulled outside and so was cindy then i but while i was being removed i saw a big pool of blood only to realize the airbag metal went through my leg. After being pulled we were put on our knees and handcuffed behind our
backs i looked around and saw men dressed in military vests and gas masks. Cross yelled "We aren't sick" and was given a weapon butt to the stomach" then a man dressed in the same clothing minus the gas mask said l "theres a large sum of them in the city we gotta move, kill them and lets go" i was flexing my thigh and felt something wedged in it, it was the metal from the airbag touching it cut my hand and i pulled it of trying not to squeal and looked for a weak point on the hand cuffs and i started to cut it while Cindy said "Wait were detectives!" the man walking up to me while loading his pistol said "it doesn't matter anymore, we have full authority now" and took aim at me and at that moment the cuff on my right hand fell of and i stabbed him in the throat with the metal and grabbed the pistol firing a shot the skimmed another mans throat and hitting another in the leg, the man then opened fire at me all shots hitting the guy i grabbed in front of me, he then ran towards Cross trying to use him as a human shield but i fired a shot that hit him clean through the head killing him.
