After a week of endlessly pain, Trey woke up that morning rested and his forearm didn't hurt like the past days. He's been doing whatever was in his power; taking some painkillers, using some cream to attenuate the pain but nothing seemed to actually work. He ended up binding his forearm with a really tight bandage, lay on bed for days and just waiting for that hell to end.
He was really excited, when he was a baby his mother told him of when at the age of only fifteen, her arm started to hurt really bad, and after some days his father's name was inked in her skin. She said that after not much, they met and when he told her his name something snapped in the back of her mind, but she didn't say nothing. But when she saw her own name marked on his skin, she knew he was the right one. Her soulmate. The rest is obviously history.
Trey has always been fascinated by that story, it was pretty romantic and the fact that his existence was the product of that meeting was absolutely crazy. But he has always wondered, is it really that easy? A name suddenly appears on your skin and your life changes forever? What if my soulmate is on the other side of the world? What if my soulmate hasn't my name on his - and why not? her - body? What if who I think is my soulmate isn't my actual soulmate, but just someone who has casually my name on her body and has my soulmate's same name? What if I'll never meet my soulmate?
But his mother always reassured him that he had to meet his soulmate, everything had to go perfectly because that's just how things work. He still had a lot of doubts though, things could go wrong and sometimes a soulmate isn't forever. Aside of all these fears, he was tired of partying and sleeping almost every night with a different boy, everything was just the same and a name was about to change his life forever.
He slowly removed the bandage from his forearm, revealing the letters marking his skin. Ishmael. He didn't know anyone with that name, so he wasn't someone he already knew. He felt like a shot of adrenalin hit through his veins, now he couldn't wait to meet him and have him in his mind all the time. He already knew he was amazing, he was his soulmate, his future boyfriend, possibly his future husband, so he had to be amazing. His mind started to wander, imagining how he could look, what he loved, if he already had his name on his skin and if he was as curious as him.

"I'm going insane Sabrina, I'm dying to know who he fucking is." Trey let his right hand run through his hair, a deep sigh fell from his lips. "I know how it feels, Trey. I was almost as nervous as you before I met Chad. Just relax, he's just waiting for you." Sabrina looked up at him from behind the counter.
"That's the problem, what if I don't make it in time and someone else will fell in love with him? What if they make him believe that I'm not his soulmate?" Trey's chest felt heavy just at the thought of losing his other half. "Mate, no one will steal him from you. It's your destiny, you're meant to be together." Sabrina reassured him, a tip of impatience in her voice. "Now, can you take this to the boy sitting in the corner, please?" Sabrina indicated the guy with a gesture of her chin.
Trey took the coffee from his hands, his mind was concentrated on don't letting the coffe spill out of the big cup and don't fall, knowing how much precarious was walk. "Here is your coffee." He didn't even look up at the boy until the cup was on the table, their eyes met and Trey saw the most beautiful person he had ever seen. He was visibly stressed, there were purple bags under his eyes, his hair was tangled with wild curls, and he was surrounded by a lot of books, but he was absolutely beautiful.
Trey couldn't explain his feelings at the moment, he felt like he couldn't breathe, like the ground underneath his feet was gone and his head got dizzy. "Thank you." He thanked him with a sweet smile, his voice was a paradisiac sound. It was in the moment he stretched out her hand to take the coffee he saw it, his name inked on the boy's forearm.
But he concentred back on the books around him, a notebook full of notes, maths rules and calculations. Trey went back to the counter where Sabrina was serving other costumers, Trey was occasionally turning around to watch the boy in the corner. "Sabrina!" He said in a loud whisper, his eyes still on the boy. "What?" Sabrina asked him as she was taking a can of pepsi from the big fridge. "C'mere, I think I just found him!" Trey said in the same whispered but loud tone. Sabrina leaned on the counter supporting herself with a elbow, so Trey could speak without being heard from too many people. "It's him! The boy in the corner! He's got my name tattooed on his forearm!" Trey said exactly, hardly keeping himself from clap his hands like a baby who has received his favorite toy from Santa Claus.
"Are you sure it's him? You don't even know his name, it's just- uh, I don't want you to be deluded by the fact that he might not be the one."Sabrina quickly added the last part because of Trey's big smile being replaced by a big pout. "I think you should just try and approach him, at least know his name. Otherwise you'll regret not talking to him for the rest of your life. Just don't make the wedding bells ring in your mind already."
After five minutes of discussing with Sabrina on how approach him (possibly without being rejected) and other five staring at him from the counter, his heart pounding heavily in his chest and ears, debating on go and talk to him or not, he stood up with a snickers in his hand and dry throat. The path to his table seemed shorter than before, but now he couldn't go back. He turned around to look at Sabrina, who gave him thumbs up and a cheering smile when an old woman suddenly hit Sabrina in her arm with her small purse because she made her wait too long for her bottle of water.
Trey chuckled, feeling a little bit relaxed when he was near to him. He took a seat on the chair next to him and put the snack on his notebook. "I thought something to eat would help." He said, Ishmael turned to look at him and blushed slightly. "That's really sweet, thank you." He smiled as he adjusted the sleeves of his too baggy blue and white shirt, revealing once again Trey's name. Trey bit on his lip, a clear sign of nervousness. "What are you studying?" Trey leaned a bit to see the exercices on the paper. "Oh, you're studying math! I love math, my mum is a math teacher. I can help you if you want." Ishmael tunerd around shooting on his chair, his body facing Trey. "Oh my God! Really?" He asked relieved, his eyes a little widened. Trey nodded biting once again on his lipr, this time to hide a laugh and a big grin. "I think heaven just sent you to me!"
They started studying, their bodies dangerously near and after the first difficoult calculus was solved Ishmael looked at him. "Is this your way to hit on a boy? Solving his maths problems?" He said, a flirtatious smile on his beautiful face. "I don't know, is it working?" Trey raised an eyebrow, an amused smirk plastered on his face. "Yeah, you've got pretty good moves dude." He giggled covering his mouth with a hand and Trey decided he wanted that sound to be the soundtrack of his life. Then Ishmael returned quite serious, "I didn't asked for your name yet!"
Trey caressed the slight layer of beard on his face, "I'm Trey." Ishmael's cheecks became a deep red, there were sparkles in his eyes and Trey felt his heart pounding against in his chest. "I'm Ishmael." Trey smiled widely, it was him. He just found him. He slowly lifted the sleeve of his tight black sweater, revealing his name. Ishmael showed him too the letters on his skin, their eyes met each other's. "You found me." He whispered smiling. "I think I'll always do." Trey admitted taking his tiny hand in his own.
