One week later...
Amy's P.O.V
"Ty! Can you believe it?! We're finished! We actually moved everything! I am so excited right now!" I say happily - scratch that, I'm beyond happy - as I jump into my fiancé's arms. I don't give him a chance to reply and kiss him deeply. The attic is officially Ty and I's bedroom. My old room belongs to Georgie now.
"I'm gonna go join-up with Spartan, want to watch?" I ask when I pull away, breathless.
"What kind of question is that?! Of course I want to watch," Ty says enthusiastically.
I take the halter of off Spartan's head and set him of at a trot, then urge him into a canter. He does two and a half laps of the round ring and his inner ears flickers in my direction and stays there. He lowers his head and starts to open and close his mouth, as if chewing. Taking my cue, I turn around and stand completely still. Then, I feel Spartan's nose on my shoulder and his hot breath on my neck. I start walking around the ring, knowing that he'll follow. I walk in Ty's direction, over to his place on the fence, I motion him down.
"Did you see that!" I exclaim, not loudly though, so I don't startle Spartan, who's right behind me.
"I did, and it was incredible," Ty says wrapping his arms around me and pecking my lips. I sigh happily. I lay my head on his shoulder.
"Can you believe it's Christmas on two days?" I ask after a while.
"No I can't, time just flies doesn't it?" Ty asks. I nod my head in reply. I look at Spartan out of the corner of my eye.
"Spartan, you not gonna' greet Ty?" I ask him. As if understanding what I just said, Spartan goes over to Ty and softly sniffs the side of his face and sighs. Spartan leans his head on Ty's other shoulder as he speaks to him softly. I smile at the sight in front of me. Ty is a natural when it comes to horses, even though he doesn't admit it.
Later that day...
"What do you want for Christmas, Grandpa?" I ask him as I walk into the living room.
"You don't have to get me anything, sweetie," Grandpa replies.
"How helpful, I want to get you something. Now, what do you want?" I demand. "Never mind, Lou and I will come up with something.." I say before kissing his cheek and running out the door to my truck.
Arriving in front of Hudson Middle School to wait for Georgie brings back many memories of my childhood. Ashley being Soraya and I's brutal enemy.... Me having a crush on my math teacher... We, math... Mom being here...... Mom.
"Hey Amy," Georgie's voice breaks me out of my trance.
"Hey, ready to go shopping?" I ask with fake enthusiasm.
"Totally," she say, rolling her eyes.
About two and a half hours later....
"Amy, how did the two of us buy so much stuff?" Georgie asks as we put the last of the shopping bags into the truck.
''I honestly don't know... Both of us hate shopping.. But, it is Christmas time, so, we're probably in a weird mood,'' I say, laughing.
''Yeah, you're probably right. I'm going to ask Lou if I can go on a ride with Steven later,'' she says with a grin. I smile at her and focus on the road again.
''Um Amy, where are we going to put all the bags?'' Georgie asks as I pull up in front of the ranch house.
''We can put them in me and Ty's room if you want, then we can wrap everything when we go home or after dinner if you're up for it,''I suggest.
