Hello, sorry for not updating since last year. A lot has been happening in my life (good and bad). I will do my best and finish this story soon ^_^ Thank you for reading my stories.
A few months had passed...
With Mina's belly growing bigger, her movements became more difficult. Fortunately, her mother moved in with her to help with household chores and organizing the twins' belongings.
Chaeyoung, on the other hand, had secured a position as an accountant at a management company. His expertise significantly contributed to the company's growth, earning him frequent raises and bonuses. Today was payday. He still found it humbling that he now eagerly awaited the end of the month for his salary, just like everyone else.
Dressed in a sharp black suit and carrying his briefcase, Chaeyoung stood in front of a baby clothing store. A warm smile spread across his face as he stepped inside, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the tiny outfits and onesies. However, his excitement dimmed when he saw the prices. Unable to afford them, he made his way to the discount section instead.
"How can I help you, sir?" a cheerful saleswoman asked. "I assume you're expecting a baby?"
He nodded, raising two fingers. "A girl and a boy."
"How adorable!" she grinned. "We have a discount on our seven-piece newborn set. It includes an overall, kofla, inner barbitos, hat, bib, mittens, and a nursing blanket."
"I'll take two, one in pink and one in blue," he replied, waiting as she packed the sets. Meanwhile, his gaze drifted to a women's pajama set on display.
"This would be perfect for your wife," the saleswoman commented. "She can wear it after giving birth."
Chaeyoung frowned at the price but didn't hesitate. Even after their divorce, he continued to spoil Mina with gifts, especially ones related to the babies. "I'll take it," he said.
After paying, he hurried to the bus stop, hoping he hadn't missed it. Luckily, he hadn't. As he waited, his stomach growled in protest. Lately, he barely had time to eat, choosing instead to work overtime for extra income. His thoughts were interrupted by his phone vibrating in his pocket.
"Yes, Rose?"
"I'm so sorry to bother you, but I need help carrying a water gallon."
Chaeyoung chuckled, grateful for his decision to live near Mina's apartment. They called on him for help almost every day. "I'm on my way."
Not long after, he arrived at the building, finding his mother-in-law waiting in the lobby. "The worker had to leave suddenly, and my back hurts," she explained.
"It's alright," he reassured her, handing her the shopping bag before effortlessly lifting the heavy gallon and stepping into the elevator.
Rose gasped as she heard his stomach rumble. "You haven't eaten yet, have you? I made soup and kimbap. You should stay for dinner."
"No, no," he protested, shaking his head. "I just came to drop off Mina's gifts."
"You're not leaving," Rose insisted as they stepped out of the elevator. Chaeyoung rolled his eyes. He knew better than to argue with her stubbornness—just like Mina's.
In the kitchen, Mina was washing dishes when she heard his voice. Her heart clenched involuntarily.
"I need to rest at home," Chaeyoung whined as Rose pushed him toward the kitchen.
Rose gasped upon seeing her daughter at the sink. "What are you doing? You should be resting! You're due next month; you shouldn't be exerting yourself."
