Chapter 5: Wedding Plans

Harry took Hermione's hand and walked her over to the portkey. He reached out to touch it but as he did Hermione stopped him. 'Don't' she began to plead. 'I want to stay here with you!'

This was the most wonderful thing Harry had ever heard but if it was a choice between his best friend and a girlfriend?

'Hermione we have to go back, what about Ron and the others?' He persuaded. She threw her arms around his neck and whispered 'Kiss me for heavens sake!' Harry hesitated whilst thoughts raced through his head, pounding guilt through his body like a heart pumps blood. He leaned in. But it wasn't just a kiss, it was a passionate heartfelt sharing of emotion. Tongue and tongue, heart and heart.  Eventually Harry pulled away, still Hermione was wrapped around him and he touched the cup. The odd sensation of flying returned to their bodies as they landed back in Dumbledore's old office. A tear fell down Hermione's face, a delicate dew drop falling down a grass blade. Harry stroked her hair out of her face and brushed the tear away. He took his wand out and cast the Gemino Curse upon the portkey cup, tapped it once and then removed the curse. There were two shining goblets sitting on the desk now, blazing brightly. They were like the sun blinding them for a few seconds. Hermione looked puzzled until Harry explained 'There's two now, I'll take one and you take one, we will use the Dumbledore's Army coins to send messages to each other if we want to meet privately, but it can not be for just some silly reason ok? Then when we can both transport via our portkey to Dumbledore's old house' Hermione smiled and nodded.

Later that day it was a quidditch match between Slytherin and Ravenclaw, everybody was walking down to the pitch, Harry included. However Hermione was sat in the library with Ron, they were planning the wedding. 'I don't care Ronald' she sighed.

' Oi stop being so negative!' He moaned. Hermione realised what an idiot she was being, she was just giving it away! She turned the coin in her pocket which comforted her she then took a deep breath and pointed at a cake. 'I like this one' she insisted.

He smiled 'Good, So do I' however Hermione could tell there was an element of unsureness and broken confidence in his voice. She hoped he was worried about the wedding too.                        But decided to put him off the trace of her cold feet by softly calling the enchantment 'Avis' . A beautiful group of birds flew around their heads, tweeting and twittering a tuneful melody that entranced their eyes to meet and lock. Ron took Hermione's cheek and kissed her, smiling through closed lips. What they didn't realise was that Draco was standing just out of sight round the corner, the pain seized through him like a curse hitting him right through the heart. He hissed through gritted teeth 'Opugno' and turned on his heel and stormed off. The birds suddenly zoomed towards the kissing couple, almost as though attacking them, their beaks pecking at them. Ruining the kiss, ruining the moment.
