seonghwa goes into the apartment after finishing work for the day. he locks the door behind him and heads inside.
"i'm home," he announces while walking towards the kitchen. "did you—oh my god." he stops in the entranceway of the kitchen, where he stands in shock from the mess that he sees.
you look over at him, covered in flour with a smile on your face. "hi." there are containers with baking supplies and a few measuring spoons and cups on the counter.
"why is the kitchen a mess?" seonghwa asks.
"i can answer that if you wait a bit," you reply, "and i promise i'll clean all of this up."
he sighs, "babe, i just cleaned the kitchen the other day," he says with a whine.
"you're complaining, but you love cleaning," you reply to him and grab a bowl from one of the cabinets. "baby, i promise i'll clean the kitchen later. you go take a shower and relax," you say to him.
seonghwa shakes his head, "my hard work down the drain," he sighs while turning around and going into the bedroom. seonghwa proceeds to wind down for the night.
as you grab a small container of frosting from the fridge, a timer goes off on your phone. you put oven mitts on and take out a tray of cupcakes from the oven. then, you set the tray on the counter and let them cool while you throw some used utensils into the sink.
"babe, can i come into the kitchen now?"
"nope!"
seonghwa sighs but goes back into the room. he sits at the desk and goes on the computer, looking for furniture pieces for the apartment to thrift.
both of you have been wanting to replace some of your furniture with new pieces. so far, you've gotten two new items for the apartment.
in the kitchen, you try to clean up a bit. once the cupcakes are cool enough, you put frosting on top of all of them. as a finishing touch, you add sprinkles from a bottle that you had bought earlier in the day.
you take a cupcake from the tray and go into the room. seonghwa is still at his desk, and you appear behind him.
"tada~" you move your hand and put the cupcake in his view.
he looks at it and smiles, "so this is why i couldn't go into the kitchen?" he asks and takes the cupcake from you.
"well it was my first time baking, so i guess i was nervous," you admit to him. "i followed a recipe though, so it should be good."
seonghwa unwraps the cupcake liner and takes a bite. he immediately nods, "it's good," he informs you. "here," he lifts his hand up higher and unwraps more of the liner. you take a bite and taste the frosting and cake.
"oh, it is good," you say. "okay, i'm going to cook dinner now."
"do you want help?" seonghwa offers.
you shake your head, "it's okay. you worked all day today, and i still need to clean in there." you lean in to kiss his cheek, "there's more cupcakes if you want."
he nods, "thanks, babe."
