I smile and accept it. I feel a light tingle as our fingers brush.
"Thanks, but um, you didn't have to do that."
"Oh no prob."
He easily throws on a smile that could melt any girl's heart.
"Awesome. So, are you trying out for football again next year?"
So, do you know that I think about you all the time?
"Yeah, but Coach Don is really strict though and I might not make the team."
He's the star player of course he will make the team.
"Don't worry, you've been practicing since before I met you when we were kids. And everyone knows you are the best player on the team."
I grin and hope it doesn't make me look dorky.
-
Her whole face lights up as she compliments my skills, and I can't look away.
"No. That's not true! I am definitely not the best player. I could use a lot of work."
Suddenly I see her arms shaking at her side; I reach my hand forward to lift her hand closest to me.
"You're shaking," I let her hand go and reach into my backpack that was resting at my feet. Pulling out an extra sweatshirt I hand it to her.
"Use this, it will keep you warm."
-
My hands tremble as I lift the sweatshirt out of his hands.
"Thanks,"I laugh," it probably wasn't the best idea to leave home without a jacket."
He chuckles slightly; his chest moving up and down almost undetected.
"Maybe not."
-
My heart beats rapidly as I think back to earlier that night and I was talking to Claire. She looked stunning in her dark jeans, knee high boots, and tank. If the guys found out I paid that much attention I would be dead. But really I only have eyes for Claire.

Lily pulls up in front of her house after the game. I grab my overnight bag and head inside. I laugh as I realize that Lily already has two cans of soda out and the hair dye.
I grab the hair dye and we head upstairs to her room. With lime green walls, a pink shag rug covering the wood floors, and a polka dotted white comforter Lily's room is just like her.
Tonight we are dying Lily's blonde hair into having pink ombré at the bottom.
Lily pulls a chair up in front of the gig flat screen on one of the walls and waits as I pull the hair equipment out of my bag. Snapping gloves on, I squeeze the permanent hair dye onto my hands and apply it to her hair.
"If this comes out funky it will be your fault Lily-bill. 'Cause I told you to go the salon."
"I'm sure you'll do great."
"The look on your face says otherwise."
She flips the TV on to our favorite show, New House Wives of Miami. Haha as if. In reality she puts on The Last Song.
(A/N yeah I know it short sorry 😁. I'll try to update soon. And it's not edited so watch out for mistakes. Also don't forget to tell me what you think)
