I woke up this morning to my best friends and family shouting in my face "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" My little sis, Luke, Liz, my dad, my whole basketball team. We were all really close and we enjoyed each others company.

I just groaned, pulling the blanket up.

After my amazing breakfast, my dad took out what he had got me. I almost cried. He got me Betty. My old dog. On another one of my birthdays, my mom got me a dog! But a couple of months later we returned it to the pet place and it's her!! my dad got her back!! we only gave her away because we were moving. But we came back. I was like 12 when it happened so it was that long ago.

"Now it's time for my present." Liz said. Luke had gotten me a poster of my favorite basketball player. 'The Labron The James' as my dad called him.

The basketball team got me one gift that they all chipped in on. Tickets to go see Cleveland against the Heat. I was so happy.

I can't say I was comfortable with all the attention though.

"What did you get me?" I ask.

"You'll see when we get there." She says and puts me I her car. She drove pretty good and the place she was taking me to wasn't that far because not very long after passing a couple red lights, we got to a stopping point.

We stood outside of a hair salon place.

"You know how you're always complaining on how your hair is so plain, it has such a dull color? well my aunt dies her hair here all the time and I thought you would've liked this too." She says

"Oh my god, you didn't have to do this, it's ok, but since you went through so much trouble, all I can do is say 'thank you' and 'your the best'"

We walk in and they shampoo and conditioner my hair and then dry it with lots of heat, only to do it again without drying it this time and then a lady sat me down, I told her what I wanted and she gladly did it so professionally.

A couple hours later and a streak of my bangs were purple. (Picture on the side) and I have it layered and cut a few inches off.

I loved my hair and on the drive back, I could not stop myself from running my fingers through the top all the way down. It was so soft and silky especially since they blow dried and straightened it.

Everything I wanted on this day was going well, but I did want one thing.

I want happiness. For me and others. Ever since my mom died, it had an effect on everybody. It changed everyone. No one was as cool, happy and carefree as they used to. Now they all have fun-yea but they're different.

I want everything to go back to normal. I want all the people I love and care about dearly, as they do to me, to be happy.

Later on, everyone loved my hair cut and so did I.

Right now I was getting ready to meet Dylan and changed into some wash blue skinny jeans, with a college sweat shirt. I put my white ankle-high converse on and my hair down, and ran out of my room.

I felt my phone buzz in my back pocket and I open up a text to see that Dylan had taken my phone at the bridge and added himself on my contacts. I know this because for his name, it was "Hottie" with a fire emoji never to a heart eye emoji.
