At the waterfall, all we did was talk. Talk talk talk. About stupid stuff like how spongebob has a squirrel as a friend who can survive under water, how there's always a guy in the background who yells "my legs!" when they're suppose to have a tail instead of legs. How they have a beach inside of the ocean. How Larry the Lobster needs sunscreen. Mostly stuff about old kid shows that we still loved.
"What about how Tom and Jerry get hurt so much but aren't dead." He says with a chuckle.
"Ah, yes, good point." I said and giggle. He smiles at that and his eyes were gleaming from the reflection of the water.
"Come here" he said as he got off of log that was a few inches over the shallow water that got deeper. He held out a hand for me as the few rocks that surrounded the log were very slippery.
I took his hand and stepped down but just as I put my other foot on another rock, I slipped and surprisingly, fell on the ground and not the water, as I took Dylan with me.
He fell on top of me, both of us cracking up the whole time and when we stopped, there was a moment of silence. The only thing supporting him were his elbows and his face was inches away from mine as he looked into my eyes. I looked at his brown eyes that were intoxicating and irresistible. For some reason, I could not look away.
My hands were on his chest and I lightly pushed him off to which he got the memo and helped me up.
He cleared his throat again before he spoke.
"Um... come here" he said taking my hand and guiding us up a little passage way to the top of the waterfall.
From the top, I could see a whole river where the water came from and I watched as the current took the water and rushed it over the edge.
"Are you ready?" he said as he stepped back, then running with all his force towards me and grabbing me and pulling me close to his chest as he jumps off the edge without giving me time to even comprehend what was going on.
"Wha-?" I barely got that out when we were falling in the sir now filled with my screams. As I kept yelling for my life I could feel Dylan's grip tighten on me.
Soon we were underwater, fighting our way to the surface for air.
When I tried to swim up, I was so tired. I was surprised I actually made it. My breath was heavy and I just wanted to punch Dylan so hard that he couldn't even imagine.
I got out of the water, freezing cold, shivering with teeth shattering against each other. That's how cold I was.
The water wasn't even cool, it was just really really cold.
"H-how could-d y-you do th-that to me!" I stutter as my teeth kept shivering along with my whole body.
"How aren't y-you co-cold?" I ask still furious.
"I don't know" he says normally standing up straight while I'm over there slouching and dying. Not literally but you know what I mean.
"I'm sorry, but you got to admit it was fun." He says with a side smile.
"Well due to my major fear of heights, it was not that fun looking down. In the air maybe, but in the water NO!" I say answering his question as I glare at him.
"Aww come here" he says wrapping me in his arms that where surprisingly warm.
We were there for maybe what felt like forever just enjoying each others presence.
After a while, we left and I was still cold and tired.
We drove and drove until we made it to my house where all the lights were off. It was like seven at night and everyone was already asleep on my birthday? Really?
Dylan walked me to the door and opened it so he could come in as well behind me. I was taking off my shoes trying not to make noise as I turned the lights on.
"Help yourself to anything in the fri- (click of the switch)" I couldn't finish my sentence as people jumped out behind couches, tvs, tables, chairs, stairs, everywhere yelling SURPRISE!!!
I screamed as they startled me and took a step back, running into the wall behind me.
Everyone, including me, started cracking up and when we settled down music started playing out of god knows where. Everyone started dancing and talking to eachother.
My dad, sis, Luke, Liz, The whole basketball team, some neighbors of mine, and other people I know that I talk to sometimes.
Luke comes up to me and hugs me, kissing my forehead as more and more people come up to me saying "Happy Birthday" and getting hugs.
Luke's arm was around my shoulder an I held his hand in mine just as Liz came up to me kissing my cheek saying happy birthday as well and putting a hand hand on my waist. In this position we all walked towards the bar near the kitchen and asked the hired bartender to get us a couple of shots on the house. We were the closest friends ever.
My dad really outdid himself this year because all of this was in my house. There was food everywhere and people were having so much fun.
Soon we gathered around a table and they sang happy birthday to me as I blushed from all the attention and ate my cake. There was a table with presents I wasn't going to open until tomorrow which I was dreading. Tomorrows Monday and I didn't want to go to school. Who did?
At around 11:00 at night, people started to leave and I went to the back where there was a bouncy house that I loved since every year only birthday I had to have one. It made me feel like the child inside if me was still alive.
I sat down on the grass looking up at the stars and heard footsteps behind me but didn't even bother looking to see who it was.
"Hey, Beau, did you like your birthday?" Dylan asks as he sits down next to me.
I look over at him with a smirk.
"Oh yeah," I said truthfully.
"I haven't giving you your present yet." he says taking out a small box, neatly wrapped.
"You didn't" I say shocked that he would get me something.
"Oh but I did" he says cockily handing me the little box.
"You didn't have to, you know" I say shaking it near my ear trying to guess what it was.
"I know,"
"You shouldn't have" I say trying to give it back to him.
"I wanted to" he says with a genuine smile, pushing it back towards me.
I begin to unwrap it and once it was open, I giggled genuinely happy.
Small action figures of Tom and Jerry.
I was Jerry and he was Tom. We had settled that at the waterfall today.
I have him a hug to which he didn't respond to until after a while. He seemed taken a back but soon he reacted and hugged me back. Then we both sat with our hands behind us keeping us up.
Looking at the stars made me even more tired. I leaned my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. I drifted off a little but not before I squinted to see his face with a smile as he moved a piece of my hair behind my ear. And with that it was lights out for me.
Hope you enjoyed!!! Longer than the last one thanks for reading my book so far. You guys are awesome!! ill update sooner than you think! I promise!!
