"Emily." A soft voice whispered to me.I groaned turning to the other side of the bed. "Emily?" The voice questioned again.
"Leave me alone." I said shoving my face into the pillow.
"Well then, you asked for it." What does he mean by that-
A cold splash of water doused my face, sending me flying out of my bed jumping onto the floor.
"W-What was that for?" I asked my older brother, Mike, who currently at the moment was laughing his head.
"You...wouldn't get up so I had to do it." He said in between laughs.
I glared at him, wishing that I could strangle him at the moment "Did dad tell you to do it?" I hissed at him.
"He said to 'get creative' so that's exactly what I did." He said finally settling down.
I slightly laughed "Okay, you win, but why did you have to splash water in my face?" I asked him.
"It seemed like a good way to start the first day of school." He said shrugging.
I looked at him in shock "Today's the first day of school!?"
"I thought I said that." Mike mumbled getting lost in thought, I began shoving him out of my room "Yeah I did say that- hey!" He exclaimed as I closed the door.
"Sorry bro I just need to get ready!" I apologized through the door.
He mumbled something along the lines of 'girls are so stupid' but I decided to ignore the comment and begin to get ready.
I had planned to take a shower, but it seemed that Mike took care of that one for me. I grabbed a towel, drying my face, then going to go change into some clothes that weren't completely soaked with freezing cold water.
I decided on my sleeveless dream catcher shirt, with denim jean shorts. Smiling, I grabbed my hair dryer and began to blow dry brown chestnut hair.
When I finished getting ready, I walked down the stairs to see my brother waiting for me. "Took ya' long enough." He joked grabbing his car keys.
"Hey, I did pretty good for you dumping freezing cold water on me." I said smirking.
This year, Mike was a senior while I was a junior. Time flies by when your in high school am I right? Nope.
Mike had been on the Varsity football team ever since his freshman year. To say that was an accomplishment would be an understatement.
I remember freshman summer him and dad would leave the house at the crack of dawn just to go through their workout! Being a linebacker was a lot of work, but he always managed to be great at it.
At first, Mike was nervous about me trying out for the football team he said things along the lines of "Not my sweet precious little sister!" and "But guys would love to be tackling you!" Then finally agreed when I told him, I would deck a guy if they tried anything.
But when I told my dad, he had the completely opposite reaction to what Mike had done. He was bouncing up and down with excitement, saying he was so proud. I even thought that he had cried a little bit, but he just said it was "manly juice".
Once the summer finally hit, dad began waking me up at the crack of dawn (like he had done with Mike) and making me train. We'd usually be out on the field for hours, until I finally reeked of sweaty football pads and grass stains were all over my clothes.
