The engagement party was a joke. An irritatingly forced event that neither of the two wanted to be in.
Han Jisung stood stiffly beside Lee Minho, his forced smile was so tight it made his jaw ache. Around them, their families toasted to a "prosperous union," as if this marriage was anything but a contract sealed with diamonds and disdain.
Minho's hand rested on the small of Jisung's back, fingers pressing just a little too hard to be polite. A sign of control and dominance with no sense comfort or softness surfacing his actions or words.
"You could at least try make it seem like you don't want to murder me." he murmured, lips barely moving.
Jisung's eye twitched. "I'd rather look like I want to murder you than like I enjoy this."
Minho smirked, the dark look in his eyes betraying his teasing façade. "Good. Because I'd hate for anyone to think you're happy about being mine."
Jisung's fingers curled into fists, he opened his mouth a couple times but no words were able to escape his throat, only a frustrated sigh managed to make it's way out.
God, he was insufferable.

It had been weeks of these never-ending, snide remarks, icy glares. A mutual agreement to avoid each other unless absolutely necessary. But tonight, after another unbearable family dinner, Jisung had finally snapped.
"You're such a fucking control freak! A self-obsessed idiot, blind to everything that doesn't have to do with your own happiness and goals." Jisung hissed as Minho drove them back, his grip tight on the steering wheel. Jisung had enough... These weeks of being accompanied by someone that showed not even some humanely respect or care towards him, had finally made him snap back. He wasn't happy in this situation either... but at least, in his opinion, he tried to make this new living circumstances more... endurable.
"And you're a spoiled brat who's never had to work for anything in his life. And funny of you to fucking accuse me of that when you're not any better." Minho shot back, eyes flashing in the dim streetlights.
Jisung scoffed. "Oh, please. You act like you're some self-made CEO when Daddy's money built your empire too."
Minho's jaw clenched. "At least I didn't waste mine on parties and bad investments."
That was it. Jisung lunged-not to hit him, but to shake some sense into him, only for Minho to grab his wrists and shove him back against the seat.
The car swerved slightly before Minho pulled over into a dimly lit alley, the engine still running.
"Let go of me." Jisung snarled, struggling.
Minho didn't. Instead, his grip tightened, his dark eyes burning with something Jisung couldn't name.
