After Mockingjay Katniss & Peeta

Chapter 9

KATNISS POV

I wake up and see Peeta is still asleep with his arms wrapped around me.

I turn around so I'm facing him. I take his hand in mine even though he's still asleep and I just look at him.

He's so perfect. Haymitch was right, I could live a hundred life times and never deserve him.

Suddenly he starts to stir.

"Morning" I say and kiss his hand.

"Morning" he says back opening his eyes revealing the amazing color of blue I fell in love with.

We just sit there and stare into each other's eyes. I look down at the beautiful ring on my finger.

"it's so beautiful. My fiancé has very good taste" I say and smirk at him.

"why thank you" he says to me. Then he just stares at me thinking about something.

"What?" I ask him.

"You are so beautiful" he says which makes me blush.

"No one is as good looking as you" I say and move closer so our bodies are touching.

I wrap one leg around his waist pulling him closer to me if that's even possible. I put some of his hair behind his ear and run my hand from behind his ear, down his neck, to down his arm.

My lips are just centimeters away from his.

He swallows hard which makes me smile knowing he's going insane.

He has a pleading look on his facing asking to stop teasing him but I just smirk and say "is something wrong baby"

"n-n-no" he stutters.

"okay" I say and move my lips a little closer to his, still not touching.

"I can't take it anymore" he says and crashes his lips onto mine as I roll on top of him. Once the kiss starts to turn French there's a knock at the door. I pull away reluctantly.

"of course!" I say rather annoyed and Peeta laughs at me.

"I'll get it" he says and walks out the door.

PEETA POV

I go down and open the door to see Annie, Finnick, and Finn standing there.

"Hey guys!" I say.

"Hey Peeta" Finnick says and hugs me.

"Hi Peeta" Annie says and hugs me also.

"Hi there Finn" I say and he just hides behind Annie's leg.

"come on in" I say.

"Thank you. are we interrupting?" Finnick says and before I can answer Katniss comes down the stairs and says "Nooo you're not interrupting at all!" she says in a sarcastic tone" and I just laugh.

"Hey guys" she says and hugs everyone then comes over and wraps her arms around me.

"So what are you guys doing here?" I ask.

"Well when you told us you two were engaged I just had to come down and help start planning the wedding!" Annie says.

"Yes and then she dragged us along with her" Finnick says and Annie hits him playfully on the arm.

"We're staying in a house here in the victors village so we're here whenever you need us!" she says.

"Thanks Annie. You know what, you can be my maid of honor" Katniss says and Annie squeals and hugs her.

"We're gonna have so much fun planning this!" she says.

"How about we meet you guys in an hour?" I say.

"Sounds great!" Annie says and they walks out the door with Finnick and Finn behind her.

"Well I guess we have to finish what we started earlier later" I say.

"guess so" Katniss says with a frown.

I smile and kiss her shortly then go up to take a shower.

KATNISS POV

I go up stairs and sit on the bed patiently waiting for Peeta to get out of the shower.

We moved in with each other shortly before he proposed.

As I'm sitting here I admire the ring again. It's so beautiful. it's a diamond not to big in the middle with smaller diamonds surrounding it. I smile to myself then hear the bathroom door open.

Peeta walks out with his pants on, his hair wet, and no shirt.

I stare at him as he walks over to me.

"Like what you see?" he says.

"mmhmmm" I say still looking at him.

He comes over to me and I wrap my arms around his neck and his around my waist.

"Yuh know Katniss. You've seen me shirtless many times, I think it's only fair if I see you shirtless." he says with a smirk.

I laugh and kiss him. When I pull away I say "Not a chance" and I get up and go to the bathroom to get ready.

Once I'm ready I meet Peeta down stairs and wait for Annie and Finnick to come back.

Once I hear a knock at the door I know my life will be full of wedding planning as I wait to be married to the love of my life.
