After Mockingjay Katniss & Peeta

Chapter 10

KATNISS POV

I'm sitting in the kitchen with Annie doing a bunch of planning for the wedding.

Peeta and Finnick went out to get the rings done and Annie gave Finnick a list of stuff to get for the wedding. Which I know he did not want to do because neither him nor Peeta likes shopping.

Annie is showing me different wedding flowers when the door opens.

"I hated that. it was so boring!" Peeta whines walking through the door with Finnick shortly behind him.

"Well hello" I say

"Hi" he says and kisses me then sits in the chair next to me.

"How was shopping" I say with a grin.

"Just wonderful" Finnick says sarcastically.

"Well since your home, you and Peeta get to watch Finn while Katniss and I go looking for a dress" Annie says to Finnick.

"Oh I'm thrilled" Finnick says, again in a sarcastic tone.

"He's napping. You'll be fine for a couple hours" she says getting up.

"We'll be back" she says, kisses Finnick and goes to the door.

"You're leaving already. I just got home" Peeta says in a sad tone holding my hands.

"I know. I promise I'll try to be back as soon as I can." I say and kiss him goodbye.

As Annie and I walk out the door we start talking more about the wedding. I can't wait till this wedding is over. I would certainly be fine with just signing a paper and boom Peeta and I are married but no, it has to be complicated.

As we approach the dress shop, Annie gets all excited because she's way more girly than I am.

We walk in and a lady comes up to us and says "Hello, I am Wendy and I will be helping you out this afternoon"

"Hi Wendy, I'm Annie, my friend Katniss here is-"

"Marrying Peeta Mellark. Yes I know" she says with a smile. Why does everyone have to know who I am and everything I'm doing every second of the day.

"Um, yeah, so I'm kind of new at this so can you like help me out a little bit. I'm not a big dress wearer."

"Not a problem" the lady says the walks off down a hall of wedding dresses.

"Why don't you go try these on and see if you like any of them." Wendy says.

"Thank you" I say to her.

I go and try the first one on and look at it in the mirror. It's a big, long one, kind of like the one I wore during my interview with Caeser.

"Let's see" says Annie from outside the dressing room.

I walk out and she looks at it.

"I don't feel like this is the one" I say.

"Not a problem. just try another one on" says Wendy.

I go back in and try on another, and then another, and then one I actually kind of like.

It's long, and thin. With really short sleeves. I walk out

"This is the one" I say.

"It's beautiful" Annie says.

I walk back into the dressing room and take the dress off.

We then get bridesmaids dresses for Annie, Johanna, and Effie.

We pay then we go back home.

When we get home I walk in and run right into the guest room and hide the dress in the closet, then go back downstairs.

When I go back downstairs I see that Finnick, Peeta, and Annie are all sitting on the floor playing with Finn.

i go and sit by Peeta.

"Hi" I say.

"Hey. There you are" he says and gives me a kiss.

"How was dress shopping" he asks

"Good. I found a dress I really like" I said.

"Then I'm sure I'll love it." he says.

"I'm sure you will" I say back and kiss him on the cheek.
