As a muggle-born, born after the war with Voldemort, I grew up in the 21st century with all the new electronics and "gadgets."
However, when I learned I was a wizard, I was in shock. I never believed in magic, no matter how much I wished it was true before knowing it was.
During my first night in my new dorm at Hogwarts, I went into my trunk and brought out my favorite blanket. It had Dean and Sam Winchester on it from my favorite show, Supernatural.
The next morning when my roommates woke me up for breakfast they asked about my blanket and who the two brothers on it were.
"They are Sam and Dean Winchester. Demon hunters, but they also hunt witches, and werewolves, and anything supernatural they can find," was my short reply, that could of been a lot longer.
The other boys looked at me terrified. And I quickly realized my mistake, "They are from a muggle TV show! Don't worry they aren't real."
Once they all got calm, and learned about TV, we all laughed about it and went down to breakfast already becoming fast friends.
