Updated: 16/03/2021Emma ran down the stairs and jumped straight into her car. She couldn't understand why her mother still had a problem with Regina; it infuriated her beyond no end. She sat in her car for a moment to try and sort through her thoughts; it didn't help that her head was still pounding from the amount she drank last night.
The blonde started her car and headed towards Mifflin Street, she had promised to take Henry to Grannys' before school, and she didn't want to let him down; she had done enough of that lately.
As she pulled up to the mansion, Henry was waiting on the steps outside the front door. As she climbed out of the car, Henry ran towards her, almost knocking her over with a bone-crushing hug.
"You remembered," he beamed.
"Always," Emma looked towards the house, hoping to see Regina, "Is your mom coming?"
Henry ran back towards the house, shouting for his other mother to hurry up. By the time Emma had reached the house, she could hear the familiar sound of Regina's heels on the tiled floor.
"We were ready to give up on you, Swan," Regina put her files in her bag and grabbed her coat, "Henry, don't forget your math homework," she shouted.
Henry came jogging back down the stairs, his school bag slung over his shoulder and a smile plastered across his face.
"I'll meet you at Granny's?" Regina asked,
"Jump in with me, I'll drop Henry off at school, and then I can take you to work," the blonde smiled. "I need to talk to you... about budgeting."
Regina was about to protest Emma's suggestion, but she could sense something that wasn't quite right, and after the previous night, she didn't want to assume everything was okay.
"Okay," Regina agreed. She stepped out of the house and locked the door.
"Shotgun!" Henry screamed as he ran towards the bug.
"Shotgun? What–"
Emma turned to Regina and laughed; confusion on the mayor was adorable. "It means he calls the passenger seat," the blonde started to walk down the pathway to her car with Regina in tow. "Henry, your mom will be in the front seat." Her instruction was met with a pout from the teenager, but he complied and climbed in the backseat.

Breakfast had at Granny's had been uneventful. Both Henry and Emma had ordered their meals, and Regina had just ordered a coffee. They had talked with Henry about his plans for the weekend and his upcoming break from school.
When their food had arrived, Emma and Henry tucked in, but halfway through her second pancake, Emma could see Regina staring at her plate.
"Want some?" Emma pushed her plate over to the brunette.
Regina looked from the plate back up to the blonde and smirked. She cut a bit off the pancake and ate it.
"Okay, you promised you'd order your own food," Emma laughed.
Regina shrugged her shoulder, "It looks nicer when you order it."
After finishing their breakfast, they had all climbed back into Emma's car. The blonde had dropped Henry off at school with only a few minutes to spare and then had driven back across town to take Regina to work.
The brunette hadn't got many days left in the mayor's office, it was mainly going through the last few things with Snow before the office could be handed over entirely, and Regina couldn't be more excited. At the mention of her mother being at the office, Emma stayed in the car instead of following Regina.
