You stared up into the blue sky, making shapes out of the clouds that were floating past. The sun burned down on your slightly tanned skin, and you lay on the grass in just a bikini. In a way, you were flaunting your newly toned bvdy off to your new nieghbour, Luke. He was perfect to you, sandy blonde hair, blue eyes that melted you inside. he became your best friend when you moved to Australia, two years ago. You wanted so much more, but you knew you couln't ruin the brilliant friendship you already had. You were pretty close anyway, snuglling up on movie nights, going out together, but you still felt that spark for him.
He stood by his porch, Ray-Bans on, a tank top and shorts. He smiled at you, walking with that swagger over to you. You smiled back and sat up, leaning on your elbows. He quickly glanced at your body and back up again. "Damn girl, work that bikinaaay!" Luke said in his best ghetto accent, clicking his fingers. You chuckled and patted the ground next to you. He sat down next to you, pulling you in for a hug. This was normal for him to do, but he didn't understand how much it meant to you. You both laid down on the grass, your head against Luke's chest, slowly drifting off to the sound of his heartbeat.
You woke up to a dark sky, stars twinkling bright, with sparks flying around them. Looking next to you, you saw a little campfire, two beanbags and some blankets, and an iPod plugged into some speakers. Luke was nowhere to be seen, so you got up, brushed yourself down and headed to put some clothes on. This was probably one of those nights Luke wanted to spend with you. He was a hopeless romantic, and he didn't even know it.
You brushed your hair out, letting it fall past your shoulders. Sliding a maxi dress on, you quickly puffed on some powder and lip gloss, and headed back outside. You saw Luke sitting on a beanbag, toasting a marshmellow in the fire. You giggled at his traditional ways and sat on the pink beanbag next to him. He smiled at you, checking you out when you looked away. You smiled to yourself, hoping it wasn't just a quick glance.
Suddenly the fire exploded, almost setting you two on fire. Luke jumped up in front of you, protecting you. You grabbed his hand, scared, and felt him grip it tighter. As soon as the fire blew out, Luke turned towards you, smiling and brushing a spare piece of hair behind your ear. He was so tall against your petite body, and you felt so safe with him. He looked down into your eyes, smiling at your beauty.
"You know, i've never really been able to show my emotions that much, but tonight, i don't know, you changed me. I really wanted to say that i-uh," He shuffled his feet, looking down and running his hand through his quiff, "I really like you. You're amazing, and you are the bestest friend i could ever have." You blushed, smiling up into his blue eyes. "well hey guess what cheeseball, i really like you too. You are so romantic and flirty, and it hurts to know that you don't feel the same way which you do which is gre-" Luke cut your sentence short by pressing his lips to yours gently. You kissed back, feeling the whole sparks and fireworks. It was amazing, everything you've been waiting for. He pulled back for breath and you smiled at him, your arms wrapped round his neck, pulling him closer to you. He did a cheesy grin, lifting you up around his waist kissing you again befvre he laid you down on the grass, pulling some blankets over you two.
