The summer before grade 9. Ohh how I remember it like it was yesterday. The sun was out, it was really nice out, all the boys where looking better than usual and the girls where getting boyfriends so easy it was intimidating. But then I met him. Alex. Alex Brown. He was the one I could have sworn when we kissed there where fireworks.
The first day I met him I was swimming with my friends Ashley and Alison. I was the leader and Ashley, Alison, Avery and Alessandra where all followers.
Avery and Alessandra weren't there because they had to work so it was just Ashley, Alison and I. That was ok I mean I didn't have to fight over Alex Brown or anything not like he noticed me. Until I fell in the pool.
I didn't intend to be falling in the pool but I wasn't looking where I was going and I fell in. I was looking at Alex. He's just so amazing and he has a six-pack. How can u not look at that? He is to die for.
Ashley was already in the pool and Alison was running up to me to check and make sure I was alright. I don't know what I could do without them in my life.
I have only had one boyfriend in my life and it was Ashley's brother Jake. I was in grade 6 and he was in grade 9 so only 3 years apart not that bad but when we broke up I was heart broken. Ashley and I didn't talk for months and that's when I met Alison and Avery. They where there for me when I needed them and they helped me figure things out with Ashley so we could still be friends.
"Ohh my gosh Amber, are you ok? I saw what happened and I am really concerned for you, are you ok?" Alison said really worried.
"Yeah I'm fine I'm just shocked that's all" I replied after I came up from under the water.
I realized that the lifeguards had pulled everyone out of the water and there where 3 guys trying to help me and make sure I didn't have a concussion or anything serious like that.
To be honest one of the lifeguards was my friend Luke.
He had a huge crush on Ashley when we where in grade 5 and I totally new why. Ashley has blond hair, green eyes, always states her opinion and is a nice, sweet, caring and trustworthy girl.
Then there is Avery. She has black hair and blue eyes. Avery is mysterious, has a lot of secrets, has never told anyone her darkest secrets and is fun, energetic and spontaneous.
There also is Alessandra. She is the quiet one in the 5 A's. That's what our group name was because we all had names that start with the letter A. Alessandra didn't talk very much but she always had a opinion. Whenever we asked her something or had to decide on something or wanted her opinion, she would always say pros and cons of whatever we say then she would give her opinion. She has dark brown eyes and brown wavy hair. She was always finding it hard to keep focused on one thing but when she did, we would know that she would zone out.
That would bring us to me. My name is Amber and I have hazel eyes and brown straight hair. I am the leader of the 5 A's and I am kinda mean when I need to be. If you make me mad or mess with my friends you will end up fighting me and I will win.
After I realized that the lifeguards got everyone out of the pool because of me I was shocked. They mush have thought I was drowning or something. I soon saw that the guy I was staring at had jumped in the pool and pulled me out of the water. When I looked up I saw his face and I new he had noticed me.
"Are you ok? I saw you in the pool and it looked like you where drowning so I saved you. I hope that's ok." He said as his blue dreamy eyes stared down at me. I loved how they sparkled when he talked and when he smiled it felt like the room had lighten up.
"Your so beautiful." I whispered. Then when I realized what I had said to him I said "umm, thank you for saving my life."
"No problem, I usually save boys but when I saw you and realized how beautiful you where and saw you fall, I just new I had to save you."
After he said that he kissed me. He kissed me on the lips and when it stopped I saw sparks fly. I new he was the one for me but I didn't know how to get him to be mine.
"Will you go out with me??" I asked just seeing what he would say.
"You mean like on a date? Alone?" He asked looking around the room. At this point a lot of people mostly girls where watching and I saw a few phones and cameras out pointed at me. Us. Damn I forgot where we where and what just happened and we did and in front of a hole crowd of people. Wow I'm such a idiot.
"Yeah that's kinda the point of a date." Someone from the crowd said finally.
He looked like he was going to say no for a while but he said "umm sure I'll have to see when I'm available and I will get back to you."
OMG! Was that a yes? I think it was!! Yay! I'm so excited that I'm going on a date with a really hot guy. " what's your name mine is Amber. Amber Rose."
" Hi Amber, nice to meet you I'm Alex. Alex Brown."
Even his name was cute. Wow I'm in for a good time I thought.
"So umm... Can I have your number so we can keep in touch?" He asked as he got up and helped me up.
"Sure, I'll just add myself into your contact list and then we will be all set." I said once I got back up from on the hard ground. Wow it's really hard.
When I got up and gave him my number people where still around but not as many as before. It turns out that I did have a mild concussion but I would be ok.
Ashley came up to me with a towel. I wasn't really cold but instead I was warm. Just thinking about the kiss and him on top of me making sure I was ok was the best feeling in the world. I loved him even though I didn't really know him. He's everything I need and want in a guy and he was right there. I can't believe at 14 I found my one true love.
Ashely wrapped me in the towel and then said "There, u will now feel warmer. I know after you fall in water that you get cold so I just came prepared."
" Thanks Ash, but I'm really warm this time."
Alison looked at me weird. Like she was thinking about something.
Alison looked confused and concerned for me. It's like they both didn't know who I was anymore. Ya sure, I kissed a stranger as my first kiss and people got it on there phones but I'm not that different then who I was before I fell in the pool. Alison's the one to blame so I don't know why she looked at me like that.
"Why are u warm now your usually freezing cold and shaking. Is it because of the boy who jumped in the pool, swam after you, got you, swam you to the wall, and then kissed you?" Ashley said really fast that it was hard to keep up with all that she was saying.
"Umm well we are kinda, umm. Going on a date." I answered not knowing what their reply would be.
Ashely and Alison both looked at each other and then back at me. "We have to text the others and let them know we are going on a date with a good looking guy!!" They both said. It was funny that they said it in unison because knowing them they have never and shall I repeat never said anything in unison.
"NO." I replied. "It's only Alex and I that are going, not anyone else. Do you understand??" I said making my self very clear. I really didn't want to go on a date with Luke and have the girls be there with us that would definitely defeat the whole purpose of a date.
"Ok fine." They both sighed again at the same time. Ok this was getting really weird. They have never been this weird in the 5 years I have known them.
I really have to text the girls and tell them this weird thing. Even though I am the leader I have to tell my girls everything. We aren't just friends we are family. My saying is secrets keep us close and I believe that's true.
