My little baby was sitting in the corner of the room with a tattered blindfold over his eyes, his wrists and ankles were tied. His face covered in blood, I wanted to cry. "Lucas?" I whispered so softly I almost couldn't hear myself.
Lucas became more alert and tensed he started moving his head around as if trying to look through the blindfold.
"Mommy?"
I ran over to the other side of the room and started feverishly untying him. I just wanted to hug him and tell him everything was going to be okay.
"Mommy is that you?!" Lucas said with so much hope and it made my heart swell, my baby.
I started to cry, "yes Luke it's me baby are you okay? what did they do to you? what did they say to you?" I finished untying his hands and ankles and almost ripped the blindfold off of him, I looked at his big indigo eyes, his left eye was pretty close to swollen shut and he had dried blood coming from his mouth and nose.
"Mommy they said they were taking me back to Beta Andrew and I told them 'no' and then they hit me! I tried to fight back so I bit them and then they tied me up."
I started to cry more and get even angrier they laid a hand on my son, Andrew will not get away with this I will make him pay for hurting my son. I picked him up and started to run out of the run down house with vines growing through the shattered windows. I ran down the stairs and out the door, and breathed a deep sigh of relief at the fresh air. I had my son back and things were starting to look up again. Handing him his helmet and putting on my own, I started up my bike and we were off, the sun was starting to set as we continued on the woodsy overgrown path.
"MOMMY ARE WE ALMOST HOME?" I heard Luke shout over the roar of the engine.
" Yes Lucas were almost home!"
Another half mile down the path I reached the cabin that me and Luke called home. I turned off the engine and brought Luke into my arms for a tight squeeze.
"I missed you, I'm sorry baby"
A pair of big indigo eyes looked up at me.
"It's okay mommy, I still love you."
Those words broke my heart, I hugged even tighter,
I heard a gasp.
"Mommy you're hugging too tight!"
I laughed and let him go
"I'm sorry honey"
"It's otay!" Lucas giggled, "can we go inside now?"
I smiled and got off the bike and headed inside with lucas trailing behind me.
I looked around and and realized, I REALLY needed to clean.
Lucas was climbing up on the stool in the kitchen
"Mommy"
"Yes Luke?"
"Can I have some Mac n' cheese?"
I smiled. "Yes after we get you cleaned up, come on let's go get you in the bath"
I went over and picked him up and headed upstairs to but him in the tub.
"MORE BUBBLES MOMMY!!"
I laughed, Luke was having a fun bath time when my phone started to ring.
"Hold on Luke" I stood up and went to the sink to get my phone. The caller ID showed up as unknown.
"Hello?"
"Athena Reynolds?"
"Who is this?"
"Is this Athena?"
"Yes... who is this?"
"Hello this is Tyler, beta of the intex pack"
"Oh... Oh! Hi hello how are you?!"
I've been waiting for this pack to contact me, I needed protection for myself and Luke with Andrew on the prowl, I couldn't risk Luke getting hurt or taken from me, I was planning to join the intex pack with Luke, I've been coordinating arrangements to meet with the beta to discuss terms and explain our situation, the meeting was supposed to be 2 days ago but with Luke being captured I had more important things to worry about at the time but now everything is back on track.
"I'm doing well, did you find your son Luke?
"Yes sir, he's with me currently."
"Excellent, can you meet today? Alpha Chris wanted to meet you and get everything in order."
"That sounds great, Luke is getting a bath right now what time did you want to meet and where?"
"4:45 sharp, and at the pack house we will send a car to pick you and Lucas up and bring you back here "
"That sounds awesome thank you so much again for everything!"
I heard Tyler chuckle over the phone,
"Anytime Miss. Reynolds"
"Well I'll see you all soon."
"That you will, see you then. Goodbye"
"Bye" I smiled into the phone.
I turned to look at luke and he had a mound of bubbles on his head, and was starting to work very hard on making a mustache for himself.
I chuckled. "Hey luke come on, we have to go meet Alpha Chris and beta Tyler okay? We gotta get you dressed"
He looked up at me and smiled. "Otay mommy"
