Hey all! :) I wouldn't read this unless you happen to know of Valve's "Team Fortress 2." A great game actually.  Enjoy! :D

Chapter 1

Baseball Gore

As usual, Scout was up to bat.He was a natural batter and runner when it came to baseball. He’d been known to run almost ¾ the speed of a cheetah, which was darn impressive considering most gifted people run just barely half the speed of a cheetah.Scout also had an unnatural gift.Rumors spread about how Scout did it.What is this unnatural gift? The ability the jump in midair.Running almost as fast as a cheetah aside, he could jump and jump a second time propelling him wherever he pleased. In midair, a ninety-degree turn was no challenge at all for him.He had never gotten out when he was batting.

The pitcher trembled, and for a good reason. The opposing team was tied with Scout’s team, and this was the last bat of the 9th quarter. He tried to hide his worried expression, but it didn’t work.Scout grinned a terrifying grin. This game was over. The pitcher threw the ball with incredible speed, but Scout was faster. He slammed the ball against the end of his custom made bat, and ball flew into the outfield.Dust kicked up behind Scout as he ran faster than a human being could hope for.His foot pressed against 1st base, and he started for the next base in a split second. The ball hadn’t even left the outfielders hand by the time Scout reached 2nd base, and he headed for third.Infielders yelled some dirty words to Scout, but he wasn’t foolish, he kept himself focused on getting to home.

The ball landed in the 3rd-baseman’s hand.Scout smiled, more than ready for the task.Scout didn’t slow his pace at all, only jumping over the 3rd-baseman’s head, tapping the base with his foot, making a perfect right turn with a second jump, and facing him towards home.Scout ran as fast as ever, speeding himself to the last base. The 3rd-baseman heaved the ball desperately to the catcher. But it was too late.Scout had already slid into home base, winning the game.

As he walked back to the dugout, his team was shouting Hurrah loud enough to make someone go deaf. They lifted Scout off the ground and carried him on his back in celebration. All was well until the sound of Helicopter wings and a droning hum filled the air.Scout hopped off his crowd of teammates. With horror, he realized that a fat man in the helicopter was holding a Minigun.

“Get out of here!” commanded Scout. His teammates did not need to be told. They were shoving to get out through the gate but lingered to long.Scout ran to get his bat and succeeded, but it was a mistake as well.

The Minigun man started spraying bullets through the air.Fortunately for Scout, he was targeting the larger group first.Scout tried not to watch as the players screamed in terror when the bullets pierced them.Blood scattered across the dugout and sand.Scout didn’t hesitate, as soon as he had his bat he ran for the outfield. He knew that the man would see him if went to the entrance.

Scout raced across the grass faster than he had ever gone, partly adrenaline kicking in to give him a speed boost. The man in the helicopter spotted Scout, and began his bullet spray once again.Scout silently cursed, but didn’t stop. The Minigun’s bullets couldn’t keep up with him, but they blasted the ground behind only inches away, slowly gaining on Scout.Thinking quickly, Scout darted straight to the right, throwing off the man’s aim.Scout took advantage of this time and threw his bat as fast as he could, aiming for the Minigun.

The good news, the bat missed the Minigun but got the man’s head instead, knocking him off the helicopter and hitting the ground with a satisfying crunch. No doubt the man had broken his spine. The bad news, a different man appeared at the door of the helicopter.Scout didn’t take the time to see what he looked like, and continued dashing for the outfield fence. He a loud sudden, boom, behind his back, and curiosity got the best of him.Looking back, he saw that the grass and soil had been thrown out of the ground and had smoke coming off of them.He came to one conclusion: Rockets.

To confirm his prediction, he saw a pointy shaped projectile hurtling towards him.  He hesitated too long, and starting running again late enough for the rocket to hit the ground right behind him.  Scout got knocked off his feet and was thrown into the fence, knocking him unconscious.

So how is it so far?  I haven't quite finished the next section so be patient!
