Chapter 1:

"Hey Mum what's for dinner?" Maxie asked her mum, her thick, long brown hair swished as she did so.

"Max why do you feel the need to call your Mum and ask about dinner?" I asked and she shushed me.

"Okay bye love you" she spoke into the phone then hung up.

"So wanna answer my question?" I asked and she flicked my nose.

"Ah b*tch" I hissed.

"You love me" she answered

"Ew whatever." I laughed.

The school bell went and we packed up our foods and stood up.

"What do we have next?" She asked me as she chomped on her apple.

"I have art and you have science" I have both our timetables memorized because she was so hopeless at remembering it

"Ew. Can't I just join you?" She asked

"You hate art just as much as you hate science" I laughed

"You're right. But you love art as much as you do science, so we are even." She sassed.

"Okay okay now get to science. Mrs Kale already hates you enough" I laughed as I pushed her in the direction of her class.

She stuck the finger up at me and continued walking in the opposite direction.

As I walked past the English building a few girls laughed at me.

I glared at them and they stopped laughing.

"Hey Kyla the liar" some guy giggled.

"I didn't lie" I hissed

"Whatever you say Kyla" He laughed and walked off.

I should probably explain.

When I was in year 7 Maxie and I were best friends with another girl.

Her name was Olivia.

We were like three peas in a pod, we did everything together until one day Olivia made a new friend, Poppy.

Poppy hated me for an unknown reason and so she convinced Olivia that I was awful and blah blah blah.

Then Olivia made up a rumor that I had done things with some guy in the bathrooms and so I obviously denied it and then everyone started calling me 'Kyla the liar'.

Creative I know.

"Hey Mr Carlos how are you?" I greeted my teacher as I stepped into the warm art room.

I love the art room, it brings me comfort.

"Well your the only one who showed up, again. So how about we just do some free drawing" he suggested.

My class only had about 14 people in it and they either ditch this class or have extra curricula activities.

He handed me a large sheet of paper and as I reached for the pencil so did he.

"Oh sorry" I laughed

"It's okay" he laughed.

Mr Carlos was a very attractive man.

He was tall, tan skin, and dark hair and eyes. He had a bit of scruff on his face and a very square jawline.

So he is basically tall, dark and handsome.

And also my dream guy.

"So how is Maxie?" He asked me

"She's good." I answered.
