(Arianna pov)
I stare at Kanan. I just met him, and he's asking me if I'm Force-sensitive?! This is obviously one of the Empire's tricks. And this time, I'm not falling for it.
I back away slowly. "Liars. And I don't even know if I'm Force-sensitive! Why don't you IMPERIALS go tell the Inquisitor that I'm not letting him find out? And furthermore, tell my father to stop sending his goons after me. I won't fall for it anymore."
"Arianna, we aren't Imperials. The only reason I'm asking is-" Kanan starts, but I cut him off.
"Because you're Imperials. Now, if you'll excuse me-" I pull out my blaster and aim it at Kanan's heart once again. "I will do as I said I would. Which is blast you all out of the sky." I twirl the blaster and get ready to fire. I charge the gun.
Sabine pulls out twin pistols, but Kanan waves her off. Hera starts to talk, but Kanan waves her off as well. Zeb just shoots him an incredulous look.Kanan gives me a hard look. "If you 'blast me', as you put it, you'll be making a big mistake."
"Which is?" I cock the blaster at him.
"The fact that the galaxy will have one less Jedi in it."
I laugh at this. "Jedi? You're an Imperial liar. Unless you're an Inquisitor." This possibility hits me like a stone and I fire the blaster.Kanan pulls out a long tube and deflects the bolt with a blue energy blade. Lightsaber. A blue one.
Before I can process this, I've fired again. Kanan deflects the laser with his lightsaber and draws the attention of a squad of stormtroopers.
"Rebels! And the rogue cadet!" The squad begins to run over to us and Zeb growls. "Nice work, Kanan. Now you've got us in a bit of situation."
I fire at the bucketheads and send two flying. I turn to Kanan and the others with an apology. "I-"
But I'm cut off by Kanan yelling at me. "Run!"
I do as he says and get the heck out of there. I risk a look back and find Kanan following me with his lightsaber glowing. The other rebels have amen position behind some crates and are firing back at the Empire.Kanan and I run to an abandoned warehouse and I collapse, panting heavily. I look up at him. "Thanks. And I'm sorry. For accusing you of lying and then...you know, trying to kill you."
He smiles. "It's okay. Better be safe than sorry when it comes to the Empire, right?"
I nod and Kanan extends a hand. I take it and he pulls me up. "We better get back to the Ghost."
"The Ghost?" I ask.
"It's our ship. It's basically our home. We can get you some food. I'm guessing that you're pretty hungry."
I nod and feel my stomach growl. "Yes."
He leads me out of the warehouse, lightsaber deactivated, and I ask. "So how did you survive all the Jedi dying?"
He sighs. "It's a very long story. But in the end, it was simply luck. And now I'm training Ezra to be a Jedi too."He pauses, then asks carefully. "Arianna, would you like us to test you to see if you're Force-sensitive? All I have to do is take a little blood. And if you are, I can train you along with Ezra. Train you to fight against the Empire with the Force. Jessie should probably be trained, too," Kanan murmurs that last part.
I think about his offer. Would I? Would I like to at least know? Maybe I can find out WHY Force-sensitives are so wanted by the Empire?
"Yes."
