The Mysterious Man

New York

This long hallway, the one I've grown to know. Where I met Lorelei and Jane. Where my best and some of my worst memories and regrets happened, and it'll all be gone like that so very soon it hurts. I'm happy once I'm in New York I can have a chance to be a better person. Nobody there will know about Jack or my family or any of the bad things. This hallway and the back field are all I will miss from this other than my friends and the good memories I had. In that field is where Andy and I made up after our first ever huge fight, that field is where I had my first kiss. Well here I go in just a week I'll be out of here to New York City, not the same as Upstate. I am going to make the next few days the best I've ever had. "Jace!" I heard a guy call my name and I immediately spun around to see Andy, he caught up to me panting. "Why...do you walk so fast..?" he asked. "I'm not sure." I said. "Why are you so unfit Andy?" "Ha. ha. so funny." He said trying to be serious but we both started laughing. "god I'm going to miss you Jace" Andy said sighing "I'm going to miss you too Andy" I said side hugging him "I have to get to class"

"okay see ya later" he replied and we went our separate ways.

I walked into my class and sat in the back next to Jane "it's almost over" she whispered as I sat down.

"I know, then New York city I come" I said grinning as the teacher walked in "Ok class, pull out your notebooks"....

I saw only Andy was standing there waiting so I decided to scare him I ran up behind him jumped on his back and covered his eyes "what the...Jasey what the hell!" He shouted "how'd you know it was meee" I whined "I can smell your perfume honey" he said laughing "oh shut up and don't call me honey." I scolded him "c'mon you know I hate your mom voice Jace" he whined "I know" I said smirking "you little-" he got cut off by Lorelei and the others "Ok let's go guys" she said walking ahead.

This kind of rising was the worst. Why did that sound so sentimental I was talking about sleeping

6:45 a.m. Andy would be here in 10 minutes

Crap.

I jumped out of bed and ran to my closet pulling out my black shorts and my grey AC/DC shirt. I ran to my mirror and put on concealer,eyeliner, and mascara. I grabbed my backpack and went to my bathroom I brushed my mop of hair out. I was about to brush my teeth just as Andy opened my front door. "Good morning Eastmans!!" He yelled, earning responses from only my parents, they loved him. They have since we met in fourth grade. He's been my rock since and they kind of grew on him my younger sister loves him too. "Jace let's go!" He yelled. "shut up" I said, and I spit in my sink, I wiped my mouth. I grabbed my backpack and ran to my front door "c'mon Andy." I said laughing.

By the time we got to school we had a few minutes until the morning bell rings. So we made our way to my home room hallway and sat against the wall. "This is it Andy, this morning was the last time you'd come get me in the morning this is the last Thursday we'll spend together in a while" I sighed. Andy scooted closer to me and put his arm around me. "I know Jace, It'll be ok." He reassured me. "Yeah.." I said

After the day was over we all met up and Lorelei brought Joey, Joey is, well he's ok, he's just kind of weird. 
We all went to my house for the last 'high school hang out' ever.
The next morning I woke up on my couch next to Andy and Jane. It suddenly came to my realization that I'm leaving today.

All of my stuff was in the truck and my suit cases were in the car Andy, Jane and Lorelei stood there quietly. I said a long goodbye to my mom and after 2 minutes, I moved on to my friends. I went to Andy and he was looking at the ground, he only does that when he's trying not to cry "Andy.." He looked at me and I hugged him and he silently cried onto my shoulder. "It'll be ok Andy." He looked at me and laughed, the kind of laugh with no noise, the kind that sounds painful. "If you say so Jace" He said giving a small smile that I returned then I walked over to Lorelei and give a sympathetic look and give her a bear hug and Jane joined in and by then by the time we've said our goodbyes It was time to leave.
