Chapter 1: Candy?

Your POV

I woke up on a bed, with a pulsing headache. As I sit up and go to rub my head, my hand instead makes contact with a bunch of wires attached to my forehead that lead to a small machine creating beeping sounds. I take a quick glance around the room to try and guess where in the hell I could be.
It was a cute room, it had a candy like design, which brings my attention to the scent in the air, it smelled of Honey and sugar. 'Is this a kid's room or something...?' I wonder to myself.
My ear twitches when I hear the doorknob being turned. My eyes widen slightly when a girl with pink hair enters the room, but that's not what was surprising about her. It was her skin, 'What in the world?' I think to myself. She doesn't notice me, her focus solely on the clipboard she held in her hands.

It is only when she looks up from her clipboard does she finally notice me. Her brows raise slightly, "Ah!...you're finally awake!" She says walking towards the bed. Upon closer inspection, her hair didn't even look like hair! Taken aback by her appearance, I completely ignored her statement and instead gave her a slow nod. "Hmmm..." She narrows her eyes at me and starts examining me, poking me here and there. I try to ask her what she's doing but as I go to speak, no words leave my mouth and I start coughing and wheezing. My throat was painfully dry, "Here, drink some water..." She passes me a glass of water, I hesitated to drink it, I mean like come on! Why would you drink liquid from a glass that a pink creature was offering to you!? But because of my situation right now I drank it. The coughing and wheezing came to a stop afterwards. "Thank you..." I managed to whisper out. She makes a surprised face "I'm glad you can speak, I was afraid you might be mute...well, this makes things easier then." she said writing something down on the papers attached to her clipboard.

"Do you feel better now?" She asks and I nod in reply. "Great!" She checks the monitors one last time and then proceeds to remove the wires attached to me one by one.
"What's taking him so long?!" She whisper yelled to herself. Then there was a knock at the door, she walks over to the door and cracks it open slightly, taking a peek outside. "Oh come in." She lets...something...inside the room. It looked like a peppermint candy, only difference is that it had arms, legs and a face! And it's alive! "Here you go princess." It handed some clothing to the 'princess' and walked back outside. She then turns to me with a smile and offers me the clothes she was just handed. "Here wear these, you can't go outside wearing nothing" as she said the last part, I lift up my blanket and look underneath it to see that I was only in my undergarments with a few bandages wrapped around my torso and legs. I panicked and covered myself immediately "Hey, don't worry. Im a girl too." She then sets the folded clothes down on the bed infront of me. "I'll leave these here, change into them please. Just go outside when you're ready" she smiles and leaves the room.

I stood up and unfolded the clothes, holding it by the shoulder part. Taking a long look, It was a simple (F/c) cotton dress that reached just below my knee. It was embellished with little swirls near the hem and had long sleeves.
Along with it was a pair of white stockings as well as some classic mary jane shoes. I changed into the dress and looked at myself in the mirror placed in the corner of the room. I combed through my soft (h/l), (h/c) hair with my fingers in an attempt to make myself look somewhat more presentable.

After changing, I left the room and closed the door behind me, shocked yet again to see the Peppermint candy man, waiting just outside the door. "Oh, you're done!" He greets. 'I-It's speaking...!' I exclaim in my mind. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Peppermint Butler. The princess has entrusted me to show you around the castle." He gives me a welcoming smile. "O-oh...yeah, nice to...meet you." I nodded. My eyes wander around, taking in the candy interior of the castle hallway. "Are all of these actually made of edible candy...?" I mutter to no one in particular. "Excuse me, but may I ask what your name is?" I stopped looking around at all the candy furniture around me and paid attention to the little candy butler "hm?" "I was asking about what your name might be." He asked politely once again. I hadn't thought much about it until now but...

My name? What is it?

I know my writing is bad at first, but please bear with it. I actually ended up switching to the narrator's point of view instead of the reader's.

Hello! Future Jamie here! I'm currently trying to salvage this fic as a quarantine project. The first few chapter until the 6th one will be pretty short. Usually around 800 or 700 words I think (yuck, I know.) Because past me must've thought that was long enough for a chapter. But anyways, chapter 6 and onwards will be around 2000 words (minimum)!
