Chapter 1

POV Tama

My name is Tama Yoshi, I'm a 16 year old guy with average looks and excel in school. My grades are always better than the rest of my class, perhaps even the entire school.

But this is actually the only thing that I could call a 'positive' part of me.
The only reason my grades are good, is because studying is just about all I do. I'm really bad at sports and I don't have any friends. Meaning that I'm alone all the time.

Some of my classmates already met their soulmates, although I don't really care about it, if they enjoy it; that's fine. The annoying part is that they really tend to brag about it.

I sigh as I look towards the window 'it would be nice for my life to be different' . Outside, I can see a little girl playing with her father.

"Yoshi!"
...
"Tama Yoshi!"

"Y-yes!" I almost scream as I stand up, I can hear some of my classmates grinning from the other side of the classroom.

"Please pay attention next time Yoshi, this is not what you're usually like." Mrs. Ritsu says, with a slightly irritated, but somehow also worried, voice.

Mrs. Ritsu is my math teacher, she is a very nice lady, but she has got a short temper.

I act as though I am paying attention. But as soon as the turns around towards the blackboard, I get back to the fantasies in my mind.

I'm not sure why, but I have been unable to concentrate lately. It feels like something big will be happening soon, which will change my whole life.
'...Maybe I'll meet my soulmate, I hope it'll be a really cute girl. But how would her chest light up for me?' I chuckle 'No no, that's just impossible, I'm just overthinking it.'

*Triiiing*

I hear the high-pitched sound of the school bell, I sigh as I collect my textbook and put it in my bag. I should be going home quickly, mom isn't feeling all too wel, but she has this habit of overworking herself. I wish she would restrain herself a bit.

As soon as I've put my backback on my shoulders I start walking out of the classroom. I then quickly make my way to the lockers, hoping to avoid Takano Aka. But it's too late, as I already see him waiting for me

'Oh no...'
